MOST PEOPLE ARE CUTTING THEIR JACK-O'-LANTERN'S HOLE IN THE WRONG PLACE
Finally some good news in the paper
Thanks! I just saw the print edition tonight. The column got a ton of space!

The Jacket sighting at 620
It's too hot outside
POV it is 80 degrees in Lowertown
Zach Top was a total '90s country throwback tonight, right down to the shirt he nicked from Garth's closet. Top's handlers seem to think he's on his way to headlining stadiums and I think they're probably correct. Here's my review (gift link):
He does have a juicy bottom.
Zach lit a cigarette during his band intros and the crowd cheered(!)
I'm at Grand Casino Arena for Zach Top. First time he's played the Twin Cities and he drew more than 10,000. (Would've been more, but Shaboozey is playing the Armory tonight.) He's straight up 90s neotraditionalist country (George Strait, Alan Jackson) and the Gen Z crowd is going wild.
Chanhassen Dinner Theatres' new version of Annie is a blast. They did a terrific job of casting Annie and her fellow orphans (there are two sets of them that rotate). It's a super fun, optimistic show that offers a welcome escape from the real world. Gift link to my review:
I love David Fincher, but I've never been able to muster the interest to watch The Social Network (even though I bought the dvd when it came out) because of Aaron Sorkin. A sequel written and directed by Sorkin? Hard pass.
Also, a moratorium on all tv newspeople stringing a series of song titles together when reporting on Taylor Swift news.
I realize it's futile, but I wish our society would banish all variations of the phrase "the math ain't mathing" to the dustbin of time.
Bill Graham Presents... (1966) Robert Wesley Wilson
“For much of this year, The Jacket was the top grossing item across all of Minor League Baseball.”
Horse Industry Horrors
I'm resharing this because my newspaper has since published a piece from another columnist who I won't name, but I'd really love to beat in pageviews. (Currently, he's barely ahead of me, so this is doable!)
I wrote a column about The Jacket. “There are a lot of people wearing it who have been through a thing, you know? Even if they weren’t doing it together, we went through it together.” (gift link)
