If you’re not in Austin — here’s the incident that sparked the ongoing conflict between fans and the club.
Inflight meal, with interesting timing. Served about 90 minutes into the flight, which is a late lunch for departure and an early dinner for arrival (4 hour time zone shift). All of it was fine. Nothing surprising or outstanding.
Hey if you have an independent game releasing December 2026 or after Email me and I’ll pitch my review of your game to Game Informer Alternatively I can also interview you and pitch that to Game Informer Also , please share this , so indie devs see this post , please please please thank you
What a strange conclusion to draw from the details I offered. 🤔 There's little evidence that foreign carriers are interested in operating domestic flights within Canada, or that such operations would be useful to Canadians in addition to the domestic airlines.
LatAm/Caribbean is up ~250 flights for August v 2024, while domestic is up ~1500/12%. Ops overall are up 8% Yo2Y. By comparison, AC is flat and Porter is up 27% over the same time.
The route is pretty terrible for connections. YYZ works same day but that's it. There's an option from YYC with an overnight in YHZ but that's not great unless you have lots of time to kill en route.
Bit of both, I'd guess. In 2024 WS operated three TATL routes (DUB, EDI, LGW). In 2025 it added AMS, BCN, CDG. This year it added CPH, LIS, MAD. Tapping seasonal demand works. August had ~500 fewer transborder flights 2026 v 2024, with ~110 more YHZ-Europe.
CAA is UK's authority. In Canada it is Transport Canada. CAAC in China and GACA in Saudi Arabia. Plenty of acronyms to go around. 🤓
Gorgeous leaf peeping as we climbed out of Halifax this afternoon. And a "glory" rainbow tracking us for a bit as we turned east for the Atlantic crossing. Very colorful start to the trip.
I'm crediting to SkyMiles, becuase I really don't care about a one-off flight. I'm also hopeful for the immigration experience. But I've also been through Lisbon before so I know that's a foolish position to take. And I'll be in that "All Passports" line. 🫣
I think they did that w the new Acela, too, for a while just in case ops required a last-minute swap.
These new Amtrak train sets are like being in Europe but at half the speed. If they ever build the Cascade route into a proper HSR I’d never fly regionally again outside of connections.
🤨 Why's it so hard to transfer from a number line to a letter line in this city? Secret no. 36 answers a question you may never have thought to ask.

The FAA absolutely issues safety warnings or limits operations in areas it seems unsafe, prohibiting US-registered planes or licensed pilots operating, even if local authorities do not. Happens all the time.
True, but unions are part of the conversation with airlines when it comes to operations in at risk areas. We've seen ops adjusted to accommodate such (crew overnights in LCA and hops in/out of TLV, for example), or outright suspended where safety is sufficiently compromised.
Welcome aboard WestJet flight WS32 with service to Lisbon. I splurged for the Premium seat today (not too much more than Y with an assigned seat and carry on bag), with plenty of legroom. Premium cabin is 100% full. I believe the FAs just said Y is only 50%, which I guess is OK for end of season.
It is also easier for the airlines more local to the region as they can get the planes and crew in and out more quickly. Still some risk, but much less than with longer layovers and staff laying over.
Not on the list yet, but there's still time.
I also wonder who underwrites the insurance policy on the planes and what their thoughts are. A colleague noted it is surprising we haven't seen a formal NOTAM or other restrictions in place.
Encouraged, even.
