I wish I had another PS5 to test this disc out on, to see if it's the drive or not. I hate not knowing for sure.
It's weird. Sometimes it fails to read other discs, sometimes it works. The inconsistency of the errors bothers me, because it could coincidentally just be I'm testing multiple dirty/scratched discs, or the drive is crapping out.
So, I got this PS5 game and the console won't read the disc. At all. The drive grinds on it a while and eventually gives up. I've never had this happen before; it's brand new. I have a sneaking suspicion that the optical drive is also beginning to fail, because it's failing to read other discs too.
Add "for Tax Purposes" to a movie: Can't Stop the Music, For Tax Purposes

I mean, I'm almost certain there's far more to the game than that, but there's something about the top-down view here that just does not impress me.
I noticed that "Order of the Sinking Star" just came out, the new game from the dev of "Braid" and "The Witness." And... I dunno, man, just from the still images I'm not sure this game is for me. I'm not blown away by the presentation here, which seems to be mainly block-pushing puzzles.
I don't quite understand why the jerk-racer starts complaining about your character. He starts whining that you were "impeding" him in the 1st race and that you drive too dangerously and you're going to get somebody killed. But... purposely slamming people into the walls is ALLOWED. Nay, encouraged!
I started playing Star Wars: Galactic Racer, and it's pretty good. What's weird about it is that there is a story mode to the game, but the story is just kind of... nothing? You play a guy who joins a new racing league, and one racer in particular is kind of a dick. That's it.
What's that dance they're doing on the poster? It looks like the Monkey.
It starts off with Picard in his personal gym CLANGIN' AND BANGIN' DEM PLATES because only in the pussy universe is Picard's hobby archaeology. Then someone tries to assassinate him, but Picard don't need a fucking spotter.
There was an awesome comic book in the Next Generation era set in the Mirror Universe, in which a jacked Captain Picard *German suplexes Riker* for reasons I cannot recall.
I think my favorite episode of Star Trek TOS (but not the best) is "Mirror, Mirror." I've always loved the concept of the evil Mirror Universe. It made me want to write something about humanity discovering a parallel universe and discovering that we were the "evil" side. But then South Park did it.
Dunno. I've already watched TNG and DS9 on my own, and I'm really not interested in watching Enterprise. I've never been able to get into Voyager, either; I just don't like the ensemble cast at all. I might be done with Trek for the time being.
At last, we're at the final episode. I actually love this one. Bill Shatner has to act "like a woman." It's comedy gold.
The Space Lincoln episode, is, frankly, ridiculous. It's about aliens who recreate iconic leaders and philosophers of various cultures and determine which one is "best" by having them *beat the shit out of each other* in physical combat. By pitting Lincoln vs. Kahless in mortal kombat, of course.
SPACE LINCOLN!
I've reached the episode where the Enterprise is taken over by Space Hippies. The show has reached a low point where it's actually kind of uncomfortable to watch. I do not remember the show being this bad, but it's *bad*.
I've reached the episode "The Mark of Gideon." It's at this point that Memory Alpha says the show had gotten so bad, producers were starting to quit. And apparently dealing with Roddenberry was totally unpleasant for everyone. The show is actually kind of hard to watch by now.
Next episode is "The Empath," which is shot so cheaply, the entirety of the alien planet is simply a black void. Shooting this series must have been a nightmare.
