The Oct 11, 1924 Las Vegas Age reported that Nevada Governor James Scrugham would be arriving in Las Vegas with officials from the US Department of Agriculture to see if Clark County is well suited for growing dates and grapes.

Brothers Edwin and William Kiel were found murdered at Kiel Ranch, now in North Las Vegas, NV, on a windy Oct 11, 1900 by Hiram Stewart, son of Archibald and Helen Stewart.

A Post Office opened at Fish Lake, NV in Esmeralda County on Oct 10, 1881, near the California border. It closed in 1887. t.co/fw6cFE1z1K
The closest town now is Dyer, NV, in south Fish Lake Valley, where a Post Office opened in 1960.

It was noted in the Oct 10, 1908 Las Vegas Age that the local pound was almost completed and that stray stock would thereafter be impounded (at owners' expense). Note: This was in response to a town ordinance passed earlier in the year.

Born in Overton, NV in 1885, lifelong resident of Moapa Valley, archaeologist, and the first curator of the Lost City Museum at Overton, NV (1952-56), Fay Perkins Sr, 77, passed away on Oct 10, 1962. t.co/4650xtssLK
He is interred in the Pioneer Hill Cemetery in Overton.
