At least Google had the foresight to take "don't be evil" out of their mission statement before going all in on the corporate dystopia thing. Though people are right to roast them for that too.

Joined a friend's Discord server recently, and lets just say I was inspired.

New Jackbox is out in less than a week.... ... but why not come play it tonight?

Card from We Forgot A Card. The outside has a picture of an exaggeratedly crying bride with the text "The weddings OFF! He left me for..." and the inside reads "A roomba with two basketballs glued to it."

Holy shit the commitment to making two months worth of these and I only had the attention span to look at three of them. Maybe I'm why art is dying.

From a thread about universal basic income. "The only people who will do nothing are those that desperately need rest." I completely agree. Because even if someone can't, or even just WON'T work, guess what? They STILL deserve to have their basic human needs met.

I was lucky enough to have @doublefine.com send me a key for Thank You Bus Driver, so expect a stream of that next week! It looks delightfully cursed, which is one of my favorite vibes for a game to have.

Quality Kirbo energy.

@solidplasmastudios.comOct 9, 2026, 5:57 PM

Thank you for clarifying. I can agree with that. My main issue is that what I usually see come out of polarizing word choices like this isn't new insights, it's dogpiling. I definitely think of union busting as a concerted effort to stop unions, I'm learning others might see it differently.

@solidplasmastudios.comOct 9, 2026, 5:50 PM

You are "I know you are but what am I" personified, and if you had a few less followers I'd think I was arguing with a bot. Bye!

@solidplasmastudios.comOct 9, 2026, 5:42 PM

No, and you're being intentionally obtuse. I have to wonder if you've ever had a disagreement resolve amicably when you take everything anyone says that challenges you in bad faith. Have a nice day.

@solidplasmastudios.comOct 9, 2026, 5:37 PM

Even if the effect was that it made it harder to unionize, intent also matters. And it doesn't sound like the unionizers handled it perfectly either. People are fallible, and outrage just makes them more so. People need to be able to disagree on some things without hurling accusations at each other.

@solidplasmastudios.comOct 9, 2026, 5:32 PM

Even if their intent had nothing to do with unionization and they legitimately didn't know how to interact? Obviously I'm pro union, but I feel like this is a huge oversimplification of a very specific, very complex scenario, in which it might not be as simple as "unionizing good"/"management bad".

@solidplasmastudios.comOct 9, 2026, 4:49 PM

That implies their intent was to union bust, which I'd submit is the least charitable take. Especially under Microsoft, I'd imagine they were scared of losing their own jobs for mishandling the situation, which at the end of the day, turned out to be a justified fear.

@solidplasmastudios.comOct 9, 2026, 4:35 PM

It seems really sad and unfortunate for everyone involved. It does seem like it's largely an issue with the culture surrounding unions in the US more than anything specific to double fine, though obviously I wasn't there. I appreciate Kotaku handling this with nuance; they don't always do that.

@solidplasmastudios.comOct 9, 2026, 4:25 PM

This is a really well thought out and nuanced piece of journalism about a very difficult situation. I wish articles like this were the norm, but it seems like people just prefer to be outraged by clickbait these days. Anyway, Kudos.

Good call. Do you know any good resources for data like this?
