i guess the takeaway is these two characters canonically made amends by the end of the series and are working to improve their relationships and the lives around them, because that's just what both of them want to do now.

... Then again, there's a huge thing to consider about Caine, who took away names and edited Scratch's brain in an attempt to make him 'happier', and Pomni, who was fully down with getting the means to shut down and 'fix' Caine due to his unstable behavior. So what's the takeaway?
