Have a 2017 Civic which still drives like new, and has absolutely no hint of a trace of any major repairs to be needed. With a little over 100k miles on it, there's a good chance we'll be driving it for another five years, but prolly many more. So trivial loan costs, and no effect of depreciation.

Depreciation means nothing if you own the car until it literally croaks (which is us). And quality of life decreases if you're trying to save money on fuel costs (admittedly some have no choice, sadly). Once the car is paid off, the additional cost of a loan continues to decrease over time. We now..

Will be a cold day in the heart of a superconducting supercollider before I even allow myself to get into a Chinese made car, let alone buy one. We need at least a decade of reliability and safety data, IMHO. (If their cars are anything like the junk they sell on Amazon, make that several decades).
