This made my day

Meme showing a young woman sitting on a park bench, looking at her phone with one hand against her forehead. The heading reads, “Is your child texting about archaeology?”
In a box below:
rofl = redistribution of flint lithics
pmsl = post-medieval silt layer
tbh = trowelled back hastily
stfu = stupid trowel fractured utterly
smh = splintered mattock handle
mfw = mesolithic flint waste
idc = I decrypt cuneiform
lmao = late mesopotamian Akkadian origin

A snippet from a larger piece showing a group of people digging up a big stone head and some smaller atrefacts. Some people are drawing. There are goats as well.A drawing of some items arranged neatly: A tortoiseshell comb, a blue ribbon, a notebook with paper scraps, two keys, a sealed letter, a knife or letter opener (ornate), a majolica bottle with a blue bird design, a pencil with a pencil extender, some sweets, and a string with coins threaded onto it.A drawing of some things you might find in a kitchen: a tea towel, a bundle of herbs (parsley, thyme, sage, bay), two wooden spoons, some butcher's twine, a cutting board, a big knife, a candle stub on a little plate, a ceramic jar, some cardamom pods, a garlic bulb (bisected).Three small drawings: One of a shrine under a pine tree with a stone inside, one of a salamander on the forest floor, one of a coastal path with stone steps, two tall trees, stone columns and two hikers in the distance. The overall feel is very late summer to early autumn.

A reimagining of/homage to M. C. Escher's "Drawing Hands" showing a realistic human hand emerging from the paper drawing a robotic/AI hand which is also emerging from the paper... and that robotic hand, having turned the pencil around, is erasing the human hand. By Bruce MacKinnon

you can probably figure this out. trust me. you might possibly remember Allan Sherman's novelty song about Camp Granada. what's a trajectory for pronunciation after that? "what's with your foyer today?" might sound odd, but it wouldn't sound uncanny. some idiosyncratic part of Long Island, say.

Only last month did I learn each branch of the Saudi Armed Forces reports to a different Ministry. All that money is effectively being spent on clan politics and trying to stop different branches of the family from deposing one another.

Golden record

Three panel comic. Panel 1: Carl Sagan and a scientist colleague look into space, watching Voyager 1 (an unmanned space device designed to float eternally away from earth) fly into deep space. Sagan says, “well, away she goes. The next big step in extraterrestrial contact.” Panel 2: he asks his colleague, “what album did you decide to put on it?” Panel 3: Voyager 1 drifts away, earth shrinking in the distance. Attached to the spacecraft is a CD copy of Gucci Mane - Trap Story. The album cover is absolutely insane and designed to looked like a Toy Story spoof with a ton of jewelry and a trap house in the background.At the far end of the universe, 24 shnillion years from now: two bizarre aliens stand next to each other and listen to a CD player. One says, “dang, this goes hard.”

I am a firm believer that an Englishman should always look slightly shabby on even the most formal of occasions. A tie shouldn't ever have a perfect knot, a shirt collar should always be a bit skew-whiff, everything needs to be a bit asymmetrical. If it looks like you've tried too hard, that's bad.
