I know it’s easy and tempting to treat someone making a mistake like their the next Hitler, but one thing you also need to remember is to have nuance when it comes to these things and allow people to fix said fuck ups. We believe in rehabilitative justice after all! :)

“Oh, why don’t they just look it up?” Like I said before, mostly everyone is not plugged in on the internet 24/7 like some of us are and they have lives outside of it. If you want people to be aware of stuff like this, treat them with respect, I guarantee they’ll listen.

I would instead just tell them straight up and be nice about it, like: “Yo, I’m not saying you’re a bad person for being a part of this, but the author is using the cash from this series to fund some transphobia shit and this trend is helping with that.”

But if it’s just some artist who just sees a goofy little trend going around and just wanna have fun making art from it, I’m not just gonna jump to them being evil incarcerated, that’s just jumping the gun right there.

And the world is currently in a hard place atm so it’s a no brainer why everyone would hop over to a trend to feel some sense of comfort. Don’t get wrong, there are a bunch of anti-woke types jumping on this trend to “Own the left” or whatever and we should just treat them like outdated jokes.

When people see this trend taking off, it’s not as though everyone who jumps on the ship is just amped to start shitting on trans people for a good long while. It’s mainly a trend out of nostalgia since HP is around 20 years old now.

Most of the time, people aren’t really paying attention to what’s going on online, it’s not out malice or apathy, but it’s mainly because people just have busy ass lives and just wanna chill after school/work. If it were those things, the world would be completely different.

I’m kinda doing a cyberpunk aesthetic  with the world I’m building for my OC’s, but it’s more of a post cyberpunk world that’s gone full solarpunk/urban fantasy after certain events, think Night city if all the corruption got sacked, nature and monster/human hybrids just took over.

Yep, and the cyberpunk twist you put on it really helps it stand out, it’s a rear sight.
