Spiorad àird nam Murchan
I’m quite amazed there aren’t more Aurora photos for #sharemondays2026 but it’s all I have this week. Revisited an old location after the best of the display had passed. Interesting to see how much it has changed in ten years.
“The external environment and internal world begin to harmonise.”
A few thoughts on spatial resonance and why Ardnamurchan feels tuned to my creative frequency.

Ardnamurchan is not an island, yet its winding roads, fragmented coast and western distance give it an intimate island quality.

This will be a collaborative exhibition inviting responses to the images from visitors in the form of poems or short stories which will then be displayed in the exhibition space.
Very happy to say that the Nighthawks series will be shown as an exhibition next year. Date and venue to be announced nearer the time. The zine from the series is available from our shop here marcdavenant.com/product/nigh...
What’s the difference between looking & seeing? Looking results in a quick snapshot Seeing results in a thoughtful image that says something I explain all in this blog:
The weekend starts here!
Love the patterns that breaking waves leave behind, whether it's on a beach or in the sea. This is from October 2023.
