The original was a taut thriller. The sequel could be even better.

“The sequel to last night or to Yamamoto starting G2 last year?”

Well the timeline splits at what we call a ‘diversion point’ creating a rapidly expanding multiversal cinematic univer

real heads know them from The Sing Off

BUT WHERE IS IT

@cdgoldstein.baseballprospectus.comOct 12, 2026, 4:33 AM

please stop replying about this to me, I don't care. All I've done is ask you to relax about it, because it's not worth it.

@cdgoldstein.baseballprospectus.comOct 12, 2026, 4:19 AM

dude, relax. it's just not that deep

@cdgoldstein.baseballprospectus.comOct 12, 2026, 4:17 AM

no one was making a 100 mph cutoff, and my point was pretty clearly that that wasn't that big a deal. that all happens in baseball.

@cdgoldstein.baseballprospectus.comOct 12, 2026, 4:10 AM

my friend, this is not worthwhile

@cdgoldstein.baseballprospectus.comOct 12, 2026, 3:57 AM

sure, a little. I mean it comes down to the Brewers sacrificed in front of Lara's single and the Dodgers didn't in front of Muncy's, basically. If someone wants to make an overarching determination out of that, they're free too, I suppose, but I think that's just baseball. I had fun.

@cdgoldstein.baseballprospectus.comOct 12, 2026, 3:50 AM

no real deep thoughts from that one, it was taut. Milwaukee's defense showed out. I thought the Dodgers' bats were pretty good, MIL defense neutralized some with the DPs. Two very good teams played a very good game.

@cdgoldstein.baseballprospectus.comOct 12, 2026, 1:47 AM

every time a reliever comes into the game and it's not aaron ashby, everyone should be asking "where's aaron ashby"

@cdgoldstein.baseballprospectus.comOct 12, 2026, 1:47 AM

lmfao

We talked our bosses into spending too much for this flashing lights set and we are going to use whatever these 25 year olds have to say

@cdgoldstein.baseballprospectus.comOct 12, 2026, 1:44 AM

absolutely not. I've done my job as a producer making them say words. I don't care what the words are, I'm showing you I did work okay. this is about me, after all.

#Balk Rules
1) You can't just be up there and just doin' a balk like that.

1c. Let me start over
1c-a. The pitcher is not allowed to do a motion to the, uh, batter, that prohibits the batter from doing, you know, just trying to hit the ball. You can't do that.
1c-b. Once the pitcher is in the stretch, he can't be over here and say to the runner, like, "I'm-gonna get ya! l'm gonna tag you out! You better watch your butt!" and then just be like he didn't even do that
1c-b(1). Like, if you're about to pitch and then don't pitch, you have to still pitch. You cannot not pitch. Does that make any sense?
1c-b(2). You gotta be, throwing motion of the ball, and then, until you just throw it.
1c-b(2)-a. Okay, well, you can have the ball up here, like this, but then there's the balk you gotta think about
1c-b(2)-b. Fairuza Balk hasn't been in any movies in forever. I hope she wasn't typecast as that racist lady in American History X.
1c-b(2)-b(i). Oh wait, she was in The Waterboy too! That would be even worse.
1c-b(2)-b(i). "get in mah bellah" -- Adam Water, "The Waterboy." Haha, classic..
1c-b(3). Okay seriously though. A balk is when the pitcher makes a movement that, as determined by, when you do a move involving the baseball and field of
2) Do not do a balk please.
@cdgoldstein.baseballprospectus.comOct 12, 2026, 1:31 AM

Yeah it's a longstanding belief of mine

@cdgoldstein.baseballprospectus.comOct 12, 2026, 1:29 AM

if you don't tell a base runner that Santa isn't real, that's a balk

@cdgoldstein.baseballprospectus.comOct 12, 2026, 1:28 AM

runners are precious babes and ANY ill will towards them will not be tolerated

@cdgoldstein.baseballprospectus.comOct 12, 2026, 1:26 AM

It's important to anyone trying to correct me/educate me here, that it's my firm belief no one knows what a balk is. Yes, even you telling me what it is

@cdgoldstein.baseballprospectus.comOct 12, 2026, 1:25 AM

the movement before the step? Idk what's a balk here

@cdgoldstein.baseballprospectus.comOct 12, 2026, 1:12 AM

smoltz-posting on main, you deserve it
