I think I'll remember Pride Comes Before A Fall, however, because it was the best of the lot. Portia was always my favourite of the four heroines because of her crusading, reforming spirit.

If a writer has to ā€˜splain her narrative with two long essays to conclude while resolving her charactersā€™ by clearing up Big Mis(es), this baby should have been shelved till the personal cobwebs were swept.

Itā€™s a failure, though everything she wrote previously, Iā€™ve loved. I donā€™t think they did, though it was hinted at start & then dropped. I mean, a car accident is traumatic, but they were such a mess. The narrative meandered: marriage in trouble, study of grief, PTSD, & boring drawing details.
