Talarico: I've heard credible reports that Ken Paxton has a serious medical condition that causes clinical levels of cowardice. People are concerned. He has asked for proof of life from me. I'm asking for proof of spine from him.
Spectacular! We used to host proper dinner parties. I am about to give it a go (just a small thing) as a solo hostess.
Ages ago I started my Wee Free Herb Garden. It’s an experiment in neighborliness. (Highly successful!) All are welcome to snip what they need; I keep scissors & little paper bags at the ready. Lots of foot traffic on our street during ACL. My basil is a hit w/visitors & locals. (See Alt Text)

Tbh, I definitely need to preserve the remaining pieces of my mind!
James Talarico surprises Bleachers’ crowd at ACL with a message to GO VOTE 🗳️

What a lovely evening of music.
THE SUPPORTER SECTION IS WALKING OUT. THE POLICE MADE THEM TAKE DOWN THE SIGN. All the normal signs are gone. No "y'all means all." No "trans lives matter." Nothing. It is now quiet. No music, no drums, no chants #AustinFC
Very cool!😎
Thanks for letting a politician crash your party, ACL!
Ever hear music that sounds like a rocket that can’t wait to launch into orbit? I. Love. Playing. This. Piece! “Exotic Etudes” for solo viola and piano quartet, by composer Stephen Paulus. “Shimmering,” 3rd movement of five. This is how you write heroically for the viola! ❤️
Congratulations! Wow! Looks nice and what a great fit. Not sure how readily available they are here, but it’s good to know.
Opportunistic omnivores, indeed! Last week I saw one (possibly this one) prancing down the driveway with something about the size of a rat in its mouth.
Owls for the win! I sometimes hear them. We live between two greenbelts, each with a creek. Lots of critters around.
We’re between East & West Bouldin Creek Greenbelt. We see foxes often. So cute.
"Delicious autumn! My very soul is wedded to it, and if I were a bird I would fly about the earth seeking the successive autumns."
George Eliot's Letter to Miss Lewis, October 1, 1841

Holy moly, a little fox just sauntered up on the porch!! I must have startled it, as the wee beastie left before I could get a picture. (It likely lives behind the shed and was waiting for the ACL crowd to clear out before coming home.)
What a lovely day: morning coffee w/a friend; an afternoon of gardening, w/Rachel Hair’s new album “Hello Harp” turned up to 11; dinner w/neighbors, where we 5 lingered talking about books & Texas politics, & suddenly 4 hours had passed! Walking home I heard the end of Charlie XCX’s ACL set.😎
