hmm? What?

@sskorkowsky.bsky.socialOct 11, 2026, 8:15 PM

Anyway... sneak peek at what I've been working on. And in case anyone was wondering why my next video is taking a while, I'm spending about 70% more time playing around in Photoshop to give it a look that I know many of my viewers won't even care about.

My RPG reviews are very image-heavy. I also try to make them match the art style of the RPG I'm discussing. Usually, this means creating my own assets. Except for Delta Green. I picked up their Digital Assets Packs & now I spend way more time than reasonable making review slides look unhinged

OK. That seals it. You finally talked me into it. I'll head out to Cali and pay you a visit. After cooking us some of those fine-ass steaks you taunted me with, we're gonna get ourselves hella drunk and charge out to bust into a pool supply place to fight ourselves some Martians. This will be epic!

In 1953 the Martian Invasion began in Linda Rosa California. While their technology was advanced, they were also super-duper tiny. A group of patrons from a local tiki bar fought them off, tearing the Martian ships apart with their bare hands, and saving humanity. We thank you, heroes of Linda Rosa.

The number one thing that's saved me from becoming a crusty grognard romanticizing the "good ol' days" is listening to crusty grognards who romanticize the "good ol' days."

I'll never forget when I first stumbled on Flat Earth. I thought it was the most elaborate and hilarious joke. I was in awe of how brilliant it was. Then somewhere around the third video this creeping horror began dawning on me that they weren't joking.

What's weird in we live in an age where disproving rose-colored lenses has never been easier. We can pull up pictures, video, countless written words from the age from 50-years before now being romanticized. 100 yrs ago we couldn't refute nostalgia nearly as easily

The "Taco Incident" was weird as hell to watch. There was so much pearl-clutching about the sanctity of historical accuracy an how a taco tray or sushi roll destroyed D&D forever.

The one with the 2 adventurers in Mickey Mouse ears is the best one, BTW

Yup. 1e DMG, randomly dropped into the section titled, "Integration of Experienced or New Players Into an Existing Campaign"

@sskorkowsky.bsky.socialOct 10, 2026, 10:16 PM

One of the big complaints you see from grognards is how the 'kids these days' have turned D&D into some joke and 'something-something-theater-kids' unlike the 'good old days' when it was all serious hardcore grimdark as Saint Gary intended. Meanwhile, Gary was dropping random comics in the rulebooks

Walking into the local B Dalton bookstore, opening Dragon and flipping straight to the comics section near the back was a monthly highlight for Young Me

@sskorkowsky.bsky.socialOct 10, 2026, 10:01 PM

Most of those were remnants of old edition spell components that no one bothered to change. It's still a lot more subtle than posting a literal joke comic in the middle of the rules.

@sskorkowsky.bsky.socialOct 10, 2026, 9:30 PM

The 1e AD&D books were loaded with comics. I'm unsure if a "serious" RPG could get away with that today. Paranoia, sure. It's a silly RPG. But I bet if a new D&D came out tomorrow with joke comics sprinkled throughout, people would outrage at it sending the "wrong message" and not being serious.

Have some Spaceship Defects:

d66 Table for some Spaceship Defects, suitable for Classic Traveller or Mothership perhaps.

The new Assassin’s Creed is going to sell like a BILLION copies.

For the last time, Mark, I'm taken. Stop falling in love with my giant glorious furry boobs!

Papsikels has some good STLs you can use.

I've already started amassing miniatures for it. Even as I tell myself I have no intention of running it
