@sandraherrera.bsky.socialReposted by @meglinehan.comThe October window is over, and now it's on to World Cup qualifiers for the Concacaf region. The #USWNT will face El Salvador, whose head coach just threatened to drop players and ban coffee breaks after losses against Paraguay. More on his unnecessary crash out ⬇️

@meglinehan.comAs an intellectual exercise, @tamerra-griffin.bsky.social and I were tasked with making a squad ladder for the USWNT after the Spain games. 30 players, ranked on form, minutes, history and value. We came in with our own rankings, then hashed it out. Fun!
@meglinehan.comI very much believe that if you reference Open Cup and FA Cup in your press release about a new tournament that your new tournament should actually resemble those two things and include amateur teams. That's the growth. Not two div. I leagues.

@meglinehan.comSome v instructive minutes in the second half of this one that we will all have plenty to chew on. Del Fava a bright spot for sure, that long ball is gonna get talked about a lot for the next 24 hours.
@meglinehan.comBig time emotions for Mal Swanson on that goal.
@meglinehan.comsomething kinda incredible about Tordin in 13 and Del Fava in 4 getting their first caps.
@meglinehan.comAshley Sanchez goal, truly important for so many reasons.
@meglinehan.comYou know, after the first 15 I did think the USWNT were gonna be mostly okay. My bad.
@meglinehan.comThey made it to 27 minutes this time? But yeeeesh, USWNT carved apart and it's easy pickings for Alexia Putellas.
@meglinehan.comI have to say, starting XI in video format is a new level of annoying (like sorry but am I supposed to be able to read that list of players on the bench without zooming???)
@meglinehan.comevery single person that I have seen post about Lonesome Dove over the past 6ish months has been a woman either recommending it or also making it her entire personality
@meglinehan.com"I don't like the stutter step approach to a pen, but that's just me." It's not just you, Emma. It's not just you.
@scoutripley.bsky.socialReposted by @meglinehan.comHeaps and Lavelle in the same midfield creates very little rest defense through the middle third and Lily Yohannes certainly is not the player to mitigate that. A common thread through the last year.
@meglinehan.comOh boy!
@meglinehan.com2:38 for Spain to score. Going to be a very interesting Saturday afternoon.

@meglinehan.comThere’s always Vermont Flannel Co. if you want to splurge for 1-2 real heavyweight shirts. I actually tend to buy the women’s cut a size up so I can fit a layer underneath.
@meglinehan.comYeah I meant more just vibes of a Bill Lawrence show rather than his direct involvement, in the sincerity/style of comedy aspect.
@meglinehan.comIn my heart of hearts I would have accepted any plot contrivance to get Hannah to sing this during the finale.
