Once I cross that line, I'm part of the problem
I should stop posting on Reddit. I can't compete with all that porn.
Passive aggressive reddit mod posting a snarky comment and then deleting it, lol, lmao, tee hee
Rescue him!!
I certainly can't complain. I'm happier not being involved. But I have to confess I'm surprised to see the same faces behind the table a decade later - to me it was always supposed to be an incubator for new talent.
Seeing the Drawfest stall at a convention this past week, what I find interesting is that it is not a stall for young artists to band together and save on table costs, it is not a stall to sell on behalf of artists who can't be there - it was a stall with no products, acting to recruit members.
We had already been having Drawfest meetups for as many years. The person running the stall had asked deviantArt for resources and they replied "Yeah, you absolutely should not be using our branding on an unofficial stall". So it was a good, logical change.
Many years ago, a group got together and called themselves the "deviantArt stall" and started doing convention tables together to cut on costs. Its leadership changed a few times and eventually I got pressured to take over, at which point I rebranded it the "Drawfest stall".
