My brother once had to transport a homemade baby coffin on the Merseyrail for a theatre production. He attempted to obscure it in an IKEA bag with padding, but all that ended up doing was making him look like he was trying to hide the fact he was taking a baby coffin on the train.

It’s so interesting that he’s so committed to this. He’s now saying it was 1993? Thing is through he’s right about there being independent tenders in 1990 - there’s one in Terrance Dicks’s archive with Tom Baker as the Doctor, fully costed etc…but nothing was shot. Also Only Fools as a kids show?!

Lads, looking mega forward to this! And by then, I will have been converted and will be sporting a new cyber-arm.

Two weeks until #DoctorWho #TargetBookClub.

Expect lots of promos as I try and flog the last few tickets (mainly so I can print the list for door in advance rather than copying it out on the tube on the way, but also I like money)

Tickets: bit.ly/smallbluebox

Working on an AI Third Doctor fan-film and the results are uncanny.

Richard Hurndall as a foppish art critic in an episode of Crown Court. He looks not unlike Jon Pertwee in Doctor Who.

I hope you left some screws under your yellow skeletal frame last night and that Father Babcock left you some Tudor warship

@garybrannan.bsky.socialOct 11, 2026, 12:56 PM

And a happy Babcock Power Construction Division Day to all of you at home!

I’ve seen weird things on the train but I’ve also been the weird thing people saw on the train because in a younger day I once had to transport a giant novelty sized Toblerone (nearly three feet long, weighing 10 pounds) on a train from York to Scarborough. Many people asked me about it.

"Where are you travelling to sir?" "Town north of Oxford." "Aaaah....Bicester."

In ~2017 I was on a very very busy CrossCountry train from Birmingham to Southampton and a man sat opposite me for the entire journey and ate oxo cubes. Just straight cube after cube, multiple boxes. I felt legitimately deeply concerned for him.

One of the Northern trains, Knottingley - Leeds line frequently stinks of piss and the toilet floods on occasion. Hearing a man once begging and pleading with the toilet just before Wakie, as seepage slowly escapes the door for several minutes, as the man emerges holding sodden jeans in despair

Or the time a train set off from Dewsbury, and as it did the sliding door of the toilet opened revealing a woman, trousers down, pissing. She did not move a muscle or make any acknowledgment and finished her business like nothing had happened . Absolute Queen.

Saw this earlier - reminded me of the time when I was on an early train to Edinburgh and a guy got on at Darlington with huge long window washing poles and a FULL bucket of soapy water, travelled all the way to Berwick and got off. Was he washing windows in Berwick by day, or in Darlington by night?

Went the Day Well? is fast-moving, mercilessly tense (eggs! Car window! Phone!), darkly funny, with curtly matter-of-fact yet still shocking violence, and a call to stand against fascism within and without ‪Plus Thora Hird as Legolas (pictured below by TPTV) Brilliant film.

Such a wierd video. The faces are weirdly off, the script is obviously a load of old shit and the characterisation is absolute mad barker imagination but….I do give it credit for a) remembering to get a difference between film and studio and b) getting the costume/design aesthetic right
