An important bit of immigration law which is relevant here; there is already a waiver process — Section 212(k) of the INA — by which immigrants who obtain status through fraud that they didn't know about can avoid consequences like losing a green card. So this is *even weaker* than it already seems.
The other day I talked to an aunt who has truly seen everything, and she couldn’t overstate how much more racist England now feels. When a working-class black woman in her mid-seventies tells you it’s bad, then it’s really bad.

personally I think it is not great that the federal government is not only weaponizing the criminal legal system against political opponents, but citing as their justification a 4chan conspiracy theory
when something scary happens to ilhan i think about this photo. you’d never know from how brave she is that she isn’t seven feet tall. we’ve all got to have her back, because she isn’t just some character on capitol hill, she’s a real human, with real children, who deserves to be safe in her home.
I’m not precious about any of that — happy to debate and be wrong. But the idea that you know so little that this is your recourse! And you’re arguing!
If I call you out on a fact and you respond with chat gpt, I’m blocking you without reading anything you wrote
Anyone who thinks that there should be an extralegal enforcement arm that targets immigrants for ANY REASON is no better than Trump and can stay the fuck out of my mentions — which is why I didn’t answer this fool to begin with. But another good point.
they don’t. Plenty of issues in Egypt, but the only ones who opened fire on Copts were SCAF. But you have no idea about any of that so stay in your lane.
Oh hadn’t heard of this one will check it out
One of my favorite historical books (written by a CUNY professor nonetheless), taught me a lot about how the origins of organizations we deem as "spooky terrorists" in America often developed as genuine approaches to resisting forced, western indoctrination. The Muslim Brotherhood was no exception.
They are harrasing people over nothing but hate makes my blood boil
Dear Islamophobic media : every Muslim Egyptian has a relative who identifies with the Muslim brotherhood. They were literally in office pre Sisi reclassifying them, in an act of authoritarianism, as a “terorist” group after jailing the literal president who was … you guessed it… Muslim brotherhood.
As someone who talks to people seeking asylum, I have learned that the quality of survival depends on identifying the right moment to depart. Electeds raided by a state enforcement apparatus questioning their right to exist in the nation ran a chill down my spine apnews.com/article/ilha...
What this moment has inadvertently done is create an innocuous way for us to identify allies and foes by what they choose to name the day — for its oppressors or its victims.
Thank you to everyone who supported the Gaza @unrwa.org 5K run! We had a great time, and outraised prior years! So grateful to you all!!
Main thing I’ve gotten from this trip to Europe is that a lot of leftwing discourse — “content” — on social media is not a good use of people’s time A lot of “call out” and not enough of “being in community”
lol sorry to hear that friend — alas if this shows anything our names do not shape our fates
CLAIM: the ICE agents fired into a vehicle with a child in it for no reason at all FACT: these keys here are jingling isn't that interesting? isnt the sound they make really something?
