It’s always an exciting day when a Kickstarter fulfillment arrives. Today, it was Shards of me—a “queer journey into a realm of fantasy and desire”—created by Łukasz Majcher. Part of the package included Bear Stories and three issues of Power Bear. Time to dive into the world of “big hairy dudes”!

Thanks for the update, Henry! Maybe I’ll give it a try at some point after all.
Don’t get me wrong—it was still a good story. I was just expecting a dramatically different foundation, like the other two & the Absolute Universe. It was also not as exciting because we built up to the accident, while FF & X-Men dropped us in on action. Still, looking forward to all the #2 issues.
…to the spirit of the original series. There are even parallels to FF in that Felicia Hardy is a powerful VP at Oscorp who (seemingly) wants to take advantage of Peter’s research. Throw in a lawsuit Uncle Ben is pursuing and Peter agitating as an anonymous blogger against Oscorp as the differences.
…intrigued. Sue Storm as a powerful businesswoman who swoops in to rescue disgraced Reed Richards after his disastrous lab accident (poor Victor!)? Johnny seemingly resentful of his plane accident and having prosthetics? Yes, please! More! OTOH, Spider-Man seemed to take fewer chances and hewed…
After having read all three of Marvel’s Midnight titles, I’m glad I changed my initial decision to skip them. All three were enjoyable, though X-Men was the best by far. Vampires, religion, & internecine politics are catnip to me. Fantastic Four took the biggest swing, though, & really has me…
Seeing the full cover for a wraparound issue is great!
I saw a clip recently of someone asking a red state person who supported the bill now causing closures to explain his support at the time, just to understand the position. His response was essentially that he didn’t believe the data saying this would happen. Should have a follow up convo.

One of the DJs on WETA Classical just said the Italian side of his family celebrates Columbus Day, and the other side celebrates Indigenous Peoples’ Day, and that isn’t it great to make room for everyone (or something like that). I was like, really? That’s what you want to say?
I remember being very uncomfortable reading it at the time, and I was young and more willing to go with the flow than I am now.
