There's something super cool #BF6toWatch and big event-related coming and I'm very excited. They are all so super-talented!
Made a post out of this for clarity. Do get in touch! This could be a lot of fun.
I believe the collective noun for unfolded zines is a 'chaos'. See you at @tagsfest.co.uk this Saturday. Prints courtesy of the magnificent @footprintcoop.bsky.social
Is anyone else using gmail noticing a huge increase of late in e-mails from other gmail accounts ending up in Spam? Frustrating!
Realised something I linked to on mental health and ADHD had a misleading and out of context title in the link card here that didn’t reflect the content of the piece. Annoying. So deleted! Anyway we have excellent comics resources on both subjects here at BF. www.brokenfrontier.com/resource-lis...
Press pass for Thought Bubble sorted. True story. It was only around the year before the pandemic that I started asking for one. Didn’t want to make a fuss before then. I am very British.
Anyway if anyone wants free @brokenfrontier.bsky.social advertising for their comics about the lived experiences of refugees or the plight of asylum seekers or anything like that just drop me a line and we'll do that. www.brokenfrontier.com/contact-us/
Evil bastards gonna evil bastard.
Some garage band just got mad at me for saying AI flyers suck and yelled about artists being entitled and that they'll stop using AI when 'rates get reasonable from humans.' My patience for these people is 6 feet under.
Agh. Noticed e-mails I'd missed because they went to a personal account that I use just for receipts and signing up for things. I think there was a point 18 months ago when we had issues with the BF one where I used it briefly for comics. E-mail me here folks: www.brokenfrontier.com/contact-us/
Anyway, just your semi-regular reminder that no matter how many times I’m referred to as a comics journalist I am not one. I quite like references to me as a comics activist though. Far more in keeping with what we do at BF.
So, anyway, a few weeks ago I put a small pile of print copies aside in a safe place, as comics I'd like to review for Thought Bubble, and I bet you've already worked out the punchline for this post...
Again, if we were doing all of this for the clicks I'd be uploading all that Marvel/Star Wars crossover preview art to the site right now. I'm not. Because writing a review of a self-published comic which I doubt has a print run of even 100 copies is the priority. This is how it works at BF Towers.
This is really good! Trust me. #languageofcomics

Sharing the first 5-page sneak peek for RIB KIRBY 🍂 Coming this November from @xtop.bsky.social, @kjdiaz.bsky.social myself & Jeff Eckleberry at @madcavestudios.com (FOC Oct 12th)-
For #DoctorWho folks, Elizabeth Sladen's daughter is posting on Instagram about some weird generative AI videos about Elisabeth Sladen and Jon Pertwee...
Students made their first minicomics in my intro making course - mostly standard format but this student, a first time maker(!), did something so off the charts I’m still reeling from it! & he made like 12 of them for his classmates! A paper engineering feat of flipbookery as well as killer drawing!
