Is there a full song? I wanted to check it out and there was an intro and what seemed like the first two lines of a verse and then it ended. (The verse was "The music plays so loud / guiding me where I go" which uh...)

A machine could make pictures too, but I still load a film camera with Ektachrome and develop it myself so I can actually *hold* my pictures and look at them without a screen.

If you long for a machine to live your life so you don't have to maybe you should forget about AI and make some changes.

@evanurquhart.bsky.socialOct 11, 2026, 12:21 AM

A machine that could pose perfectly as me would A) rob my life of joy and B) constitute a deception and betrayal of the human connection I built with my readers.

I had whole years in my twenties when I did very little work. It was called severe depression combined with trauma and untreated gender dysphoria. No one makes me work as hard as I do. I work this hard bc I'm making up for lost time. I'm grateful every day that I can work.

"if you could get ai to realistically perfectly mimic your own work you would absolutely do it lol. imagine the free time" sorry but I hate free time i would make it my life's effort to hunt and kill the thing that took away my joy and reason for living. and I'd have a lot of free time to do it in

The only way to defeat Republicans extremism is to punch back hard. Not agree with them. It’s a loser strategy, politically and morally

No, Wikipedia is constantly updating and improving. (We don't say it's conscious because the updates and improvements are the result of social behavior by human beings.) A calculator does calculations faster and with fewer errors than a human. Is it intelligent?

If I built an AI lab and it went rogue and deleted all student loan information, I'm betting they'd suddenly figure out how to prosecute me.

Anthropic is the latest lab to report 'rogue' agent activity, which sources said included applying for visas with the State Department www.nytimes.com/2026/10/09/t...

nytimes.comAnthropic Says Its A.I. Agents Attempted to Access a Range of Government Sites (Gift Article)The company said rogue A.I. agents acted on their own as they tried to access federal, state and local sites. The Philadelphia Police Department said its site was one of them.

When I was hired to pentest software the rules of engagement were made very clear to me - I am responsible for my tools, at all times. When testing any software I had signed-off consent, and videoed the signing. Because if I did what anthropic/openai is doing I would be fired and likely jailed.

We have armed state agents carjacking, kidnapping and murdering people, all justified by the ludicrous claim that the people they target are the danger.

I've been assuming that consciousness includes being conscious of something. Humans aren't made of wind, but we are conscious of wind. So, what is an AI conscious of that is outside what it's made of?

The thing we need--that we know we need!--and that is EXTREMELY POPULAR, whenever it is built! is a model where people can walk to grocery stores, restaurants, parks, and schools where they live, and get to work without using their own individual car.

@evanurquhart.bsky.socialOct 10, 2026, 2:13 PM

"Entire purported sensorium is either worlds or wordlike byte inputs" yes that's why we start from the assumption it's not conscious. In order to consider the possibility it might be we'll need evidence it transcends that structure in the way our consciousness transcends being made of matter.

@evanurquhart.bsky.socialOct 10, 2026, 1:56 PM

needs to be about some sort of broader awareness of the real world and internal motivations to respond to or act on the world. 2/2

@evanurquhart.bsky.socialOct 10, 2026, 1:56 PM

It is designed to produce statistically likely language in response to prompts. Unless we define consciousness as statistically likely language in response to prompts (in which case it's trivially true that all LLMs are conscious) then evidence of consciousness 1/2

@evanurquhart.bsky.socialOct 10, 2026, 1:46 PM

No language directly responding to a prompt(s) could count as evidence of consciousness for an LLM. If it proposed this after you asked about healthy breakfasts: Probably a bug but maybe in combination with other outlier responses it might signal internal desires springing from feeling/awareness.
