We’ve been doing so many changes in the back end to move systems it could easily have been an error moving queues and folks dropped through the cracks, so will see.

We currently have just a handful of appeals in the queue so cases should be resolved pretty rapidly but will dig into the Reddit cases to see if there’s anything we missed during the system transition.

Thanks. We are doing a massive restructure on the back end to prep for the mod inbox (including how appeals work) so will dig in, but it’s unintended transition pain. Goal is to have better turnaround and accuracy once that’s complete.

None that I’m aware of.

Tbh while not identical, this isn’t that far off from Chinese pressure to shut down Rightscon…

It was pre-coffee and maybe 6am on my end so that’s what came to my sleep addled brain. Point being that there’s plenty of circumstantial and direct evidence of US activity and suppressing panels/conferences on the topic is clearly… censorship and jawboning from the free speech lady.

2) Canada talks a lot of game in terms of elbows up, but folds in the face of demands from the new free speech censor from the US which is seriously disappointing.

1) on a pure evidence base the US has repeatedly engaged in information operations. You can even find procurement examples to manipulate youth in Iraq. Obviously with cases like stuxnet - you know there’s milder stuff.

Oh yeah Halyna is very cool. Damn. Sorry it was such a mess on the sponsorship front.

I flagged to mods for review. Should be addressed.

I was already sad to miss it this year :(

I hesitate to say fix. It should be a pretty radical improvement though.

Yup. We can’t communicate to accounts created on third party PDSes cause we don’t have their contact info. That should hopefully improve when we launch the in-app mod inbox to bridge that gap.

Should be addressed now. Can’t guarantee this person won’t be stopped permanently but should be harder to create new accounts. We’ll do an overhaul next year of ban evasion that should make this much harder.

Insert *that escalated quickly* meme

Never thought of my vanilla codex as superior in any way but it’s an interesting point!

mods say the accounts you have reported have already been taken down and they had emailed back FYI.

I don't necessarily see all tags on my account depending on if I have priority filters, but I'll bump with the moderation team.

A little scoop before Oct 7, when ICANN publishes 1,000+ applications for new top-level domains: one of them is .bsky! It's a long road (18 to 24 months), but if it goes through, handles like alice.bsky become possible.

Career highlight doing the Twitter files - so decided he’d just stick with that role endlessly. Going to Vilnius? Have a great time! Wanted to be there but couldn’t manage logistics on my end.
