We could have benefitted from a neutral party costing all these promises against Sutcliffe's last budget and State of the City report. It needs a serious economist's eyes.

No surprise. Who promised to fix transit in the last municipal election? Sutcliffe. Who voted to cut service and raise fares? Sutcliffe. You reap what you sow. #OCTranspo

The city replaces something like 20 km of pipe a year. Assuming an average age of replacement of 80-100 yrs were soon approaching a needed rate of replacement that is ~8x the rate we are currently doing. Just imagine 8x the amount of road construction. That's what we're looking at.

Sutcliffe is the school council president running a free pizza every Friday camapaign

Yup. And who campaigned last election on making transit work? Sutcliffe. And who voted for #OCTranspo service cuts and fare increases? Sutcliffe. Just saying ...

While my team canvassed beautiful Kitchissippi this morning, a few of us got out to Orleans to distribute literature and get me on the doors for a few hours. Absolutely perfect election weather!

Another successful canvass with some amazing volunteers. What a beautiful day for enjoying fall colours in Bay Ward! Happy Thanksgiving weekend everyone!

People should understand that the City doesn't have the authority or resources to end homelessness without federal/provincial support (or else it would have been done long time ago). So this is very misleading. #homelessness

Cynical goodies and empty promises make me angry and Evan explain why they work on so many people. I’m still angry.

AND another promise! It's now a long list (with a little more than 2 weeks to go) and surely his 2.5% tax cap has been abandoned if he intends to follow through on the others! Phew! Don't think he is finished yet, either. #ottcity

How we get around is crucial to a city; years of austerity budgets by Watson, perpetuated by Sutcliffe, combined with P3 boondoggles for LRT and inept leadership have crushed the dream of transit in #OttCity; and everyone is paying the price: drivers, transit users, economy, residents/tax payers.

Voter turnout at municipal elections hover around 40%. The question is: which 40% will turn out?

@alexcullen.bsky.socialOct 10, 2026, 3:23 PM

I almost forgot: one of the leading proponents of the 18% hike in seniors bus passes last budget was Beacon Hill-Cyrville Councillor Tim Tierney. Council thought better of this. Wonder what he thinks of this now, being election year. #OCTranspo

@alexcullen.bsky.socialOct 10, 2026, 3:18 PM

No surprise given Council's stop&go with service cuts & fare hikes, plus well-publicized service interruptions. Amazing that Sutcliffe now offers bus pass cuts when just a year ago he was going to hike seniors bus passes 18% (Council thought better). #OCTranspo

Ottawa voters overwhelmingly choose transit as top municipal election issue

OP-ED: “Removing Toronto's bike lanes puts children's health at risk.” Actually, well documented evidence shows that EVERYONE is put at risk. And it costs EVERYONE. “The Ford government decision to tear up bike-lanes is bad for kids, families, cyclists, drivers, taxpayers & the planet.” And more.

The Feds will subsidize a $100 billion pipeline after paying $34bil for the last one.
But the PM signs on with Trump to fight subsidized EV technology.
This has nothing to do with jobs. It is about blocking the expansion of cheap/accessible alternatives.

Zelenskyy: While our teams are meeting in Florida, US President is having conversation with Kremlin leader responsible for this war. I believe they are simply using our team as a cover...clearly not acting in good faith as a partner. And this, in my view, is a weak decision from strong partners.
