I’m not a billionaire. I’m not a corporate-backed politician. I’m a single mom who pushes the shopping cart and actually gets what you’re going through. And I know how to make life more affordable for California families.

I've said it since the beginning: I'm in this race for my kids. Californians deserve a candidate who will deliver a better future for California, not more of the status quo.

As a single mom of three teenagers, I worry about whether or not my kids will be able to afford to live in California in the future, and I know I'm not alone. I'm running for Governor to bring down costs for families and make it actually affordable to live here.

Californians deserve a tax structure that puts hardworking families before billionaires and giant corporations. That's why I've proposed a progressive corporate tax that would allow us to give tax relief to struggling businesses and eliminate state income taxes under $100,000.

People who don't have health care don't avoid getting sick. They just end up getting care where it's most expensive: the emergency room. That's why health care everyone can afford and access is so important.
