A facet of the Manchester City convictions that isn't getting enough play is that the combination of the financial cheating with their noncompliance with investigations paints a picture of an entity entirely unsuited to existing in the collective competitive environment of a sporting league.
1 - A club has only once has been convicted on 114 charges of rulebreaking. Cheats. Pathetic from Opta.
I’ve decided to not watch any match involving Manchester City for the rest of the season, except for Arsenal’s two. They are not a legitimate club and I will not treat them as such. The Premier League is tainted and pointless as long as City remain in the competition.
Have Arsenal considered doing attacks like the one for the second goal against Leeds every time they attack? Seems like that would be very effective.
That's kind of what I'm saying! They need to change the way the Laws are applied. In this case, it wasn't one of advantage played. Tanaka grabbed Rice from behind to slow him down. Then a few seconds later won the ball with a "clean" challenge that he's only in position to make b/c of the grab.
Arsenal looked like crap for 60 minutes and still turned it into an xG mauling.
Fulltime. 2-1 to Arsenal. Riccardo Calafiori and Bruno Guimaraes score after the Gunners went 1-0 down in the second half. Leeds' mistake was taking the lead. Snapped Arsenal out of their stupor.
Bukayo Saka in on goal at the death with a chance to make it 3 but he can't covert. Doesn't matter. Final whistle.
94th minute and Bukayo Saka is tracking all the way back for key defensive interventions. Tremendous stuff.
That Leeds player had two arms draped over Bukayo Saka is he turned and tried to clear that ball. It went out for a Leeds throw. It was a foul.
Viktor Gyokeres did so much right on that turnover sequence and then completely fouled it up.
And again! Paul Tierney staring directly at it. You've usually got to be on at least your third date before you can touch and grab someone (with consent) as much as the defender was grabbing Big Vik.
Declan Rice really stepped up after his poor defensive effort on the Leeds goal.
Gyokeres, as usual, getting manhandled by a defender from behind. No foul given.
Martin Ødegaard given a ridiculous yellow card for delaying the restart. Leeds routinely took a similar amount of time over goal kicks, etc. in the first half. The same old inconsistent enforcing of restart time.
Ah. That took a deflection off the defender and onto Ødegaard's heel after he'd ran through. Wild that ball didn't end up in the back of the net. Great work from Declan Rice.
Piero Hincapie replaces Riccardo Calafiori.
Those types of fouls (Justin grabbing from behind on Bruno as Arsenal are breaking with numbers up) should be red cards.
Absolutely steaming at that last refereeing sequence. Gudmundsson committed two or three fouls on Jurrien Timber, threw himself to the ground under the faintest contact, and got the call.
Bukayo Saka's plant foot slipped ever so slightly as he went to shoot. Choosing to believe that's why he missed the target.
