Seventy years ago, the CANDU reactor was developed. It runs with heavy water as a moderator and doesn't need enriched uranium. Canada built a reactor to avoid dependence on US enrichment. Seventy years later, the same technology may reduce the nuclear waste the world does not know where to put.

Here's an interesting chart. For the record, my mother had both hips replaced, cataract surgery( both eyes), successful uterine cancer treatment, broken back surgery and got a free electric scooter. Oh, and all her meds were covered. Cost? $0. Happy Thanksgiving, Canada.
