Last year Amnesty International verified public executions in two countries, Iran and Afghanistan. The US hasn't held one since a hanging in Kentucky in 1936, and no execution here has ever been broadcast. This is truly abhorrent.

Thursday, NY Governor Kathy Hochul named her special prosecutor in the Cornell sexual assault case, after the Tompkins County DA decided not to bring charges.

There are now new criminal referrals against her in Miami and Chicago, and federal prosecutors are looking into money she exchanged with her hairdresser. She has kept working through all of it.

She also beat Wayne LaPierre and the NRA at trial. Trump's DOJ responded by indicting her for mortgage fraud. A federal judge threw the case out because the prosecutor who brought it had been illegally appointed, and when DOJ tried again, two grand juries refused to indict her.

Since taking office, she has sued Donald Trump for fraud and gotten a court to rule that he lied about his wealth. Her office's investigation into Andrew Cuomo's harassment of women on his staff led to his resignation.

This is a Tish James appreciation post. Before she was NY Attorney General, she was a public defender at the Legal Aid Society.
