I just signed bills that strengthen protections for places of worship and expand security resources for nonprofits across the state. Every Californian should be able to walk into a house of worship without fear, and every nonprofit should be able to bring people together safely.

California and Catalonia are agricultural powerhouses with a lot we can learn from one another. It was great to be with CDFA Secretary Karen Ross and the Catalan delegation today to formalize our partnership through a new MOU focused on climate resilience, and building stronger food systems.

The Governor just signed the strongest child safety tech laws in the nation, banning addictive social media features for kids under 16 and strengthening safeguards around AI companion chatbots. California is setting the standard for the nation that tech innovation must put our kids first.

I just signed legislation banning addictive social media features like infinite scroll for users under 16 and regulating chatbot companion usage by minors. California will not stand by while unregulated technology puts our children at risk.

Our kids deserve to grow up free from intrusive technologies that could cause harm. The actions I just announced are a commitment to kids throughout California to protect them from addictive social media features, unregulated companion chatbots, and more.

I was fortunate enough to know her, and receive her support early on in my filmmaking career with Miss Representation and beyond. In her legacy, may we take the time to listen to and uplift other women and never alter in the pursuit of gender equity for future generations.

We have lost a great woman, an incredible mind, and a true leader for equality. I can't imagine a world without Gloria Steinem's impact and legacy - her work inspired women deeply, from every walk of life.
