Wonderfully put, I may have to steal that... 😁

Great isn't it, it was actually drawn before production and the hole in it's torso inspired Cushing to suggest the sequence where he rams a spear through Lee!

Agreed, my favourite Pete Walker film and it's up with my favourite British horror films...

Indeed, he had a pretty rough time. He also had cut and bruised legs from pipes in the 'swamp' and strained his back carrying Yvonne Furneaux. Definitely suffered for his art!

I'm a big fan of this one. I've always admired how, at a time when many Italian films were trying to appeal to the larger US market, it's remains uniquely Italian. The style, pacing etc... everything about this is just perfect for me. Love it...

Great isn't it, from a production perspective it's prime Hammer. Lee brings an incredible force to the monster, I remember as a kid believing it was the first mummy I'd seen that could actually kill people! Scared me something rotten...

Will you almost watch it today?

I think we've agreed on all of the above many times! Early Hammer was lightning in a bottle, a perfect coming together for all aspects of film production. The talent on both sides of the camera was remarkable.

Agreed, from a production perspective it's absolutely stunning considering the budgets Hammer worked with, and Lee brings a tangible power to one of my favourite of the classic monsters. Great stuff.

Lee was famously keen to avoid typecasting, hence his initial refusal to return as Dracula. I'm pretty sure him and Chaney never crossed paths...

Chaney was 6ft 2.5 inches tall (yes, I Googled) but I reckon it was more likely Lee's dislike of monster make up, if he was considered at all! I'm with you, I really enjoy the Hammer mummy films. Even the one with no mummy!

Same here, I do love the Universal mummy films but Lee's relentless physicality here brings a whole new level of terror to the monster...

And I might watch the Olympics more too...

School for Sex is a masterpiece! Only joking, it's utter shite...😂

Not sure that's where most saw it first and no idea what the coily short is, personally I'm not a fan of MST3K but if it spreads the love then it's not all bad!

Seriously, why have I never noticed that? 😂😂

Respectfully disagree, really not a fan of MST3K...

Great line... 🪱
