it was so obvious this guy was a plant from the outset also (I guess to anyone but Jan Crawford)
Meanwhile, here is who Jan Crawford is applauding in that exchange with Abdul El-Sayed: www.thehandbasket.co/p/tommy-teep...
One of my friends who is a few years older than me lived through the Laurie Dann school shooting in the Chicago suburbs and now has an elementary schooler and I see how she experiences the world and it sucks.
America now has second-generation school shooting survivors nypost.com/2026/10/17/u...
Michael Morse was discussed in this convo last night.
Look I do not know if this man will win but boy can he read a room! The Chicks “represent, first and foremost, Texas excellence. We are *so* proud the Chicks are from Texas.” In front of an audience of elder millennial women forged in the fire of the W Bush Era and hating it here is 11/10 no notes.
Jan Crawford is so incredibly broken. And the current CBS regime has given her the permission structure to let her freak flag fly in ways that were previously unimaginable. You decide whether it’s better or worse that these people no longer have to keep it to themselves.
Because Trump said it
This is very good and also I feel like Tommy was not sentient for the “freedom fries” era of post-9/11 America. Millennials have seen this tired Islamophobic shit before. Abdul El-Sayed came of age in this.
Yes

The dream is to have a walk-up song that the whole stadium wants to break out in every time
The husband is now trying to explain this Georgia loss to the six year old
The sad thing is that a bunch of Dems are absolutely deferential to this dork whose whole fortune was built off the genius idea he stole from others of ranking girls hotness online 20-some-odd years ago.
Give us a couple honks if you see us :)
a one-half Scaramucci!!!
I worked alongside Laura for four years, on the radio and television side of the Senate and everything Meredith says in this thread is spot on. Laura was an authentic, kind person who worked in an environment that was often overrun with the opposite kind of person. This world needs more Lauras.
I've been waiting to comment until it was public: I loved Laura Lytle. She was so talented and kind. The sort of person whose work impacted everyone in the American public but whom they would never know, like most people in the Capitol. She was a tireless defender of reporters and I will miss her.
look I’m not talking credit for the Brewers current run but I did purchase this Bob Uecker prayer candle this summer when I was in Milwaukee for Summerfest so
Roll Call is the kind of place where you (and by you I mean "me" here) can write an obituary for a sandwich maker in the Capitol Carryout because the man who fed staff and senators every day deserved to be remembered as essential to the Capitol.
ok last thing on this and then I am done: @rollcall.com forever. Laura deserved to be remembered and Roll Call is the only outlet in Washington truly committed to covering the Capitol as a place filled with real people.

Block Club Beer is here! 🍻 Thanks to Marz Community Brewing for supporting our nonprofit neighborhood newsroom. The beer's can pays homage to Chicago urban animals featured in some of @blockclubchi.bsky.social's most popular stories over the years, and is illustrated by local artist Ryan Duggan.
I won't say who but a Chicago reporter (because local outlets don't have DC bureaus anymore) needed what otherwise would have been available Capitol press contact information for an important story. I sent a note to one of my favorite still-working gallery staff and got the contacts within 24 hours.
