A beautiful evening in Northfield for the Governor’s Pheasant Opener. Pheasant hunting is a Minnesota tradition and this year we’re celebrating new public land: a 101-acre island added to the Circle Lake Wildlife Management Area in Rice County.

As Governor, I will take on gang violence by establishing a Regional Gang Violence Task Force, help local police hire & retain more officers, & make sure police and first responders have the resources they need. I’ll bring my experience as a former prosecutor to the job of keeping Minnesotans safe.

When Minnesota U.S. Attorney Andy Luger went after Feeding Our Future, I asked what he needed to take on the fraud. He said he needed more prosecutors, so I went to the top of the Justice Department & got it done. That’s how I’ll lead as Governor – when there’s a problem, I won’t wait. I’ll act.

The bridge will cut congestion on South Broadway, help first responders get where they need to go faster, and make it easier to reach downtown, Discovery Square, and the new Aquatic Center at Soldiers Field.

Rochester is on the move, and the 6th Street Bridge will help it keep moving forward. Thanks to the advocacy of Mayor Norton and other civic leaders, more than half of this project is getting done with federal funding, which — by working across the aisle — I fought to secure.

When I ran Minnesota’s largest prosecutor’s office, I did my job without fear or favor. As Governor, I’ll audit state government top-to-bottom, make sure people who commit fraud go to jail, and get rid of decades-old technology so we have the tools to stop the fraud before it happens.

I had coverage I could depend on when I was treated for breast cancer, and Minnesota families deserve the same. As Governor, I will keep fighting to lower health care costs so people can afford the care they need.

Behind every voter is a story. A lot of people who voted for Donald Trump thought he would do something about costs. Instead, prices are skyrocketing and 8 million Americans have been tossed off their health care coverage.

Minnesota runs on power, and that power runs through the more than 16,000 members of the IBEW. When a storm hits, our electrical workers show up and help Minnesotans keep the lights on. I’m honored to have the endorsement of the IBEW, and as Governor, I will show up for Minnesota the way they do.

As a former prosecutor, I understand what we need to take on fraud. That’s why when the Feeding Our Future indictments came down, I went to the top of the Department of Justice and fought to get Minnesota’s U.S. Attorney Andy Luger’s office the prosecutors they needed.

I will bring my prosecutor's background to the governor’s office to root out the fraud, modernize outdated technology to stop fraud before it starts, and strengthen criminal penalties to hold these criminals accountable & send them to jail.
