if a producer says something in a meeting you can just say "I just merge the PRs buddy". what can they say to that

I suppose the silver lining if you work at Epic is that you can tell claude to do 100% of your job while you look for other work. it's not like your manager can complain if they don't like claude's output

it feels like if a tech 1. has already been around for years, 2. is touted as drastically cutting down on the required time and effort to get results, it shouldn't be the case that you're *delaying* games to "pivot" to using it

PANEL 1: MATTIE is standing in front of a whiteboard that says "WELCOME OUR VISITING ARTIST, MATTIE LUBCHANSKY." In the near foreground are a bunch of silhouettes.
MATTIE: ANY OTHER QUESTIONS?
STUDENT: YEAH! WHAT'S YOUR ADVICE FOR WHEN YOU GET STUCK WRITING?

PANEL 2: Close in on MATTIE. She looks off to the side.

PANEL 3: MATTIE, in her home, completely nude. Messages are scrawled on the wall, seemingly in blood. A small fire is lit. She's crying.

PANEL 4: Same shot as panel two.
MATTIE: I LIKE TO PUT IT DOWN AND MAYBE TAKE A WALK OR A SHOWER!

It’s reasonable that we focus on cases where chatbots push people to do violent things or self harm. But one has to wonder how many cases like these, where someone goes into debt buying tokens to support their “genius” startup idea, there are. Is this essentially OAI running a pig butchering scam?

"I'm too smart to have my brain pickled by the X algorithm" is exactly the kind of thinking that leads to getting your brain pickled by the X algorithm

I had looked at X bc it was the place a handful of trans women posted about a local who died & every single one of them was ratioed > 3:1 by racist cartoons about troon suicide. But you can follow more AI positivists without getting busted on as much so in conclusion i think X is a land of contrasts

it's the scariest time of year because this is when you start hearing the panic attack-inducing word ("december")

@brunodias.devOct 12, 2026, 4:47 AM

it can only be good for bluesky that about 23% of all conversation on here is about twitter, and climbing

I'm sure this one won't make anyone angry.

daringfireball.netX Once Again Marks the SpotIf you returned from exile on a desert island and took a look at X today for first time in a year, you might reasonably guess that Elon Musk got bored and sold it while you were away.

100% of the blame there goes to React

@brunodias.devOct 11, 2026, 7:19 AM

This is the slop bug report. The "bug" is indeed that there's a counter of the number of keyboards SDL sees, and the counter is incremented with an overflow-unsafe operation, so you could overflow it by plugging in 4 billion keyboards.

this kind of diagram but analyzing the relationships between morphisms like "snuff", "birth", "unbirth", "vore", "necromancy", etc

one of those incomprehensible category theory diagrams that just looks like a mess of math symbols with arrows pointing at each other
@brunodias.devOct 11, 2026, 4:10 AM

is "reverse snuff" birth or necromancy, greatest thread in the history of forums, closed after 20,000 pages of heated debate

if you want to modernize carrie white then she is not a pretty, misunderstood quiet girl. what she is is a "lolcow", a girl who does not fit in and is seen as a bit grotesque and is systematically provoked until she breaks, with a goal of milking her for content.

@brunodias.devOct 11, 2026, 3:36 AM

Like imagine if everyone goes "well okay we don't really understand why but the code compiles so I guess the Riemann hypothesis is true" and it turns out that's not even valid either.

So without extensive manual checking, it's not definitely not possible to know that the Lean proofs say the things that the papers are saying. And accepting just the face-value meaning of Lean theorems probably carries some nonzero risk of catastrophic error.
