I read this whole article. He voted against every bill banning trans kids from participating in sports but did say sometimes trans kids can’t play in a sport when safety and fairness are at risk. This is an extremely far cry from not supporting trans kids.

You can’t believe what people say in hearings. Our society just doesn’t value that kind of honor any more. Hearings are for grandstanding and obfuscating. If you want to know what someone will do next, use this rule: past behavior is the best predictor of future behavior.
