@curatorrob.bsky.social100% Nero.
@curatorrob.bsky.socialHorrible news, but here's an idea:
Let's stop chucking massive grants at individual museums so they become economically unsustainable.
These grants have ongoing costs.
The sector itself needs funding so museums can grow organically to become self-supporting.
@durotrigesdig.bsky.socialReposted by @curatorrob.bsky.socialAn excellent day spent celebrating the life, work and legacy of Ivan Donald Margary, unsung hero of 20th century archaeology, history and heritage at the @cbasoutheast.bsky.social and #SussexArchaeologyandHistory conference
@curatorrob.bsky.socialHe's so much better than a human. ♥️♥️
@curatorrob.bsky.socialDo. Not. Feed. The. Animals.
@curatorrob.bsky.socialThanks Sally! Will make sure he gets extra fuss tomorrow. Hope you and M and BD are well! 🥰
@curatorrob.bsky.socialThanks! Extra belly rubs tonight. Maybe even for Huxley, too. 😆
@curatorrob.bsky.socialYou're welcome! 😘 Sorry about the lack of posts lately. We're keeping off social media for... reasons. 😢 Will make sure he's spoiled rotten tomorrow!
@curatorrob.bsky.social😘🎉🎂
@curatorrob.bsky.socialBirthday Twins!!! 😍🤩🎂🎂🎉🎉
@curatorrob.bsky.socialIt's #SundayHuxley 's 14th birthday tomorrow and a neighbour just bought round a card.
The card....
@curatorrob.bsky.socialThat's my wrestling name.
@curatorrob.bsky.socialThat's the one! Garden Hill is an incredible site and needs to be written up in full! 🤩
@curatorrob.bsky.socialRemember that time when I did the whole glass furnace thing @butserancientfarm.co.uk with our PhD student, Kim (and team)?
Well they only went and made a film of it! 🤩
It's 20 mins, but worth every second.
@curatorrob.bsky.socialI've been photographing Roman glass today. It's kind of freaking me out that the tiny bubbles in this fragment contain ACTUAL ROMAN AIR. 🤯
@curatorrob.bsky.socialReally must get a copy of the Clayhill site report. I hear it's a banger. 😬
@curatorrob.bsky.socialAnd let's not forget this beauty, with its topical Bayeux Tapestry design. Classic Sussex Archaeological Society - ahead of the trends as usual.
@curatorrob.bsky.socialThey certainly do! (The 1998 edition was seemingly more prone to shrinkage 😳)
@curatorrob.bsky.socialThis is what the future looks like...
@curatorrob.bsky.socialI've invented a new cocktail. I'm calling it the "Laurie Lee" 😐
