Starting tomorrow on Indigenous Peoples’ Day federal contractors are scheduled to begin removing thousands of saguaros and other desert plants from Tohono O’odham land in Arizona for Trump’s border wall, according to tribal officials.

The Tohono O’odham consider these saguaros sacred, part of their family. Now they’re fighting in court to stop their removal from their own land.

The Nation has asked a federal appeals court to intervene before the clearing begins. They shouldn’t have to fight the federal government to protect their sacred plants and homeland. We stand with the Tohono O’odham Nation. 💚
