Yup, he's beefing with LL (see the Kangol under Moe Dee's Jeep's front tire). LL's response:

Okay I am not voting for Candy Licker but I must admit it is great and would get my backing were it not for Salt N Pepa and Levert

Sananda hasn't shaken off the Prince-isms yet, while CeCe delivers a invocation worthy of the idea of house as sacred. by comparison the eventual copaganda and raveaganda are one-note, dull, and incomplete without the tv show or dark warehouse to experience them with

Thanks to my rockist education in which Public Enemy was the only necessary Golden Age rap group, I was surprised to realize that Kane outraps Chuck D (but not surprised that both of them outrap teen pinup LL). The System are a distant, honorable fourth.

“I Want Her” was the very first new jack swing hit. it was produced by Teddy Riley. it’s also an excited puppy jumping up on you and licking your face (complimentary). and yes, it’s my nom. treat it nicely! it won’t bite! 🐶

The strings on Boops are epic.

Strings of Life is one of my all time favourites. It’s going to take a pretty spectacular find to beat it, sadly not be found in this group (although I like the Sly & Robbie track)

Marvin Sease is certainly prompting a “Sir, this is a Wendy’s” response in this car.

That was like the Stairway to Heaven of eating pussy. Incredible.

Love Jody's practical cycling shorts, but Strings of Life has been one of my fave tracks since I heard it on Rave Nation (or was it Rave Alert?)

Is this the group where we have the discourse about Graceland, surely one of the elephants in the room in this tournament? I was sad Ladysmith Black Mambazo didn’t get a nomination of some kind. Still, Mahlathini et al always bring it Gonna bonus the axe heroics + future funk of Junei. Great stuff!

Some, er, very memorable songs here. Casanova gets my main vote but Push It had a special dance at my junior school disco and I will perform it when it reaches the final.

Can You Dance? Can You Throw A Tea-Tray Of Clattery Drums Down The Stairs more like (complimentary)

Excellent talk-boxing by Roger and/or Zapp, but this has to be “Strings Of Life”. I can use the word seminal here and not regret it later.

Say When song is incredible - a GB if not a PB. I had to check online that I hadn’t heard it before, as one bit was ringing all sorts of bells (turns out that bit was ripped off wholesale in Corona’s “Rhythm Of The Night”. TIL!)

Closing these in a couple of hours!

"Children Of The Night" is another of my nominations, a lovely bit of yearning house pop with a great vocal and synth line. And house pianos obvs. It'll need all the votes it can get against the big names in this group please!

B-sides groups of death have not disappointed, used my vote and bonus on this group with a GB to spare
