The Jessie' s Girl guy discovered Buddhism. New episode, y'all
i know everyone's talking about a different doc rn, but Once Upon A Time In Harlem is a must-see - a beautiful, artful homage to a period that still somehow gets overlooked. I talked with director David Greaves about it in my first piece for Playboy ππππππ
Billy is low-ranked simply because he is the least interesting character on his own, he's only interesting in relation to others, and Amanda-Billy the loosest and least-connected of his relationships, but certainly what the pairing lacks on paper they make up for in intensity
but they are all very interesting and, important to note, they are all antagonistic or exploitative in some way, in both directions. i would read a full-length essay on any of them
My ranking of the most interesting dynamics of the four principal characters in You Can See Everything: 6. Nathan-Billy 5. Amanda-Billy 4. Elizabeth-Nathan 3. Elizabeth-Billy 2. Elizabeth-Amanda 1. Nathan-Amanda
"Busyhead" by Noah Kahan stops on the word WAIT, into the list it goes
also, even if i didn't understand any of the words, "Cleveland!" would be one of Taylor's better tracks and "Actually Romantic" still one of her worst
i promise you that we are many, many more steps away from that, but i certainly have thought a lot about why i violently loathe one and not the other. i think the things that make "Cleveland!" obnoxious are a lot more deliberate at least
I don't think it's comparable to "Manos" because it is what it is on purpose. Also, there isn't a difference to me between "bad in an interesting way" and "good"
I gave it a couple weeks but it just hasn't stopped being delightful
The fact that it makes everyone howl in disgust makes me like it more. Taylor at her absolute worst
I have a soft spot for when an artist says "I'm gonna do all the things you hate *even more*"
I agree but I also will not pretend it's not one of her most hateable songs
I assure you I am not lying
"Cleveland!" is almost certainly my favorite Taylor Swift song since Midnights
My take is that Elizabeth, consciously or unconsciously, purposefully seeks out ultra controlling creeps who treat her bad because she can use that to hide behind
I'll give this for it, all the things you've heard about it are true but it's also very watchable in the way Flanagan's stuff generally is
flaky dates are not what Olivia is singing about
He absolutely will
i hope i didn't come off as not disgusted by it
he's taken a number of truly offensive stances in the 2020s (the Bud Light stunt, supporting Kyle Rittenhouse) but not with any real conviction in my opinion, more with the pathetic enthusiasm of a dork who's copying the cool kids he wants to hang out with
