@willmckinley.bsky.social Lately, Netflix has been adding a whole bunch of classic TV shows in Canada. Today they added The Twilight Zone and Bewitched and Gunsmoke was added last week. I watched The Twilight Zone on a Rogers owned streaming service a few years ago and then it was closed.

I don't disagree w/ Dan here, and there is no doubt that sexism is (or can be) a detrimental factor in the enjoyment of early SNL and other media of that era. I will say that I always thought Aykroyd's character was the butt of the joke in those Weekend Update bits.

Happy birthday to composer Michael Giacchino #BOTD in 1967.
Since the early 2000s, Giacchino has been at the forefront of Hollywood film composers, writing the scores for over 50 movies.
His list of credits is wide ranging: from Pixar to Marvel movies, comedies to dramas.

It was eventually a moot point, because at least one of my local twins lived long enough to become a quad (and then a "six-plex" w/ two smaller auditoriums built at the back of the building).
