"Common Side Effects" Season 2 premieres on January 24 on Adult Swim! That's something fun to take you into the weekend.
On the TV side, he's been tempting fate for years, raising the ante on smugness almost project-by-project. On the film side, he's just a VERY bad director who has decided he wants to direct all of his own material. None of these are a reason for hatred, necessarily. But they contribute.
An *ongoing* TV series. Only the first season is eight hours!
I liked Netflix's "Below" much more than I thought I would. Not a great show, but an admirably and enjoyably silly show. Think "Come From Away with a Sea Monster." My review:
Truth in advertising!
CBS' new vampire sitcom "Eternally Yours" is apparently so freaking complicated a production that critics were only sent the pilot. And the pilot is pretty weak. So *sure* it has potential to get better, but I can't review "potential" nor should anybody else be.
I was told there would be no math.
I don't know if you're *right* but I know you're not *wrong*!
31?
That's a good assessment/explanation.
I have not! #TooMuchTV
I keep thinking that maybe I will start S2, in part based on your enthusiasm for it. I keep not starting S2, in part based on my lack of enthusiasm for S1.
You could... Stop! Watch "The Gentlemen" instead!
It should take nothing away from how generally great and influential and important Tracey Ullman is and has been over her career to ALSO add that Tracey Ullman was just awful on "Ted Lasso" this season. It's a Helen Mirren in "MoBland" situation.
That would be my moral obligation. Unfortunately, it's unlikely to be the same thing.
Between a new "Harry Potter" TV series and a new televised execution, December is shaping up to be a tremendous month for things that there's no legitimate justification for watching if you aren't professionally required to watch.
This is exactly why I wrote about ADW the way I did!

Changes in TV. Changes in journalism. Changes in money.
1. This has been incredibly obvious and incredibly disheartening to anybody who watches even *close* to as much TV as I do. 2. I sense the regression for directing might be ever worse. 3. That fact that, without a TCA press tour, TV executives have basically NO visible accountability is... bad.
Like I said: Hays Code White!
