Excellent thread. 🧵 Trump's mental decline. ...."He makes false claim after false claim with absolute confidence. I can't tell if he just doesn't care that he's lying or actually believes the lies himself. Reading the transcript — not watching him, not hearing the delivery" Amy McGrath.
1. I think the president of the United States really believes "there's never been anybody" who deserves the Nobel Peace Prize more than he does. He really believes he "settled eight wars." He really believes he stopped "the total obliteration of the world" by going to war with Iran.
1. Trump’s new White House press secretary Katie Zacharia is a prolific user of Truth Social where she regularly promoted Pizzagate and QAnon conspiracies, accusing elites in the Democratic Party and Hollywood of running child sex rings and eating people.
The gentleman’s agreement was always fake.
Not only should brooks and others shut up. But Ossoff is the best example in the country of a Democrat playing dominance politics and using it to control the whole terms of his race.
We’ve been talking about this for years. None of these far-right movements are organic.
The total amount Trump has embezzled from the Treasury to run political ads glorifying himself: $19mn.
This eventual outcome has long been obvious to any good-faith observer of the right's supposed concerns about free speech.

After years of championing "free speech," Texas lawmakers have enabled a dramatic rise of censorship in Texas universities, banning concepts, canceling courses and closing departments seen as "woke," and even using AI bots as censors. All in the name of freedom. www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/1...
I want our friends who are outside the United States to understand why it is so hard to impeach and remove an American President or to declare them unfit for duty. It’s literally never happened in the 237 years of the American Presidency.
👇🎯 This is the inevitable endpoint of 50 years (no, actually, 160+ years) of total lack of elite accountability in 🇺🇸 politics:
Once it's accepted one can commit high crimes & still go on to lucrative media/academic/finance sinecures (or govt again), we had to end up here.
Putin is getting desperate... and so is Trump.
I think the problem here is that many people do not read, do not know history, do not understand politics and do not think critically. They get most or all of their political information from tv and tik tok, and believe they are savvy.
I wrote long ago that Trump created his own reality with his repeated lies. He may start out knowing he is lying, but the lies blur after he repeats them. His lies are like mixing different paint colors. Truth becomes a grey goo. Nobody else can know what's true. Only what he says is true.
lots of good info here including this remarkable- though not surprising- reaction to Trump not getting the Nobel Peace Prize:
Thanks.

Even if you're taking a break from Politics this weekend, this thread is a must read.
Not to mention that we could’ve gotten plenty of diesel fuel-and cheaper, too-without helping Putin kill innocent Ukrainians. But now, the stain of their blood will forever remain on the hands of Trump and his soulless, hypocritical acolytes in the Republican party May they rot in hell
