Via my state's Dept of Libraries newsletter, I learned that we deliver books to six correctional institutions in the state as well as to Mississippi where Vermonters are incarcerated. Made sure the DOL knew about the Abolitionist Library Association. Do you? πŸ“š

Abolitionist Library Association is a collective of library workers, students, and community members taking action to divest from all forms of policing in libraries and invest in our collective liberation.

I help people in the public library use computers every week: this is very much what many of their desktops look like. So many "new folder" folders.

The Lusty Lady never would have done you like that.

Show a picture on your phone that has your energy but isn’t a selfie.

An illustration of a cartoon frog looking like it's seen some shit. Headline over frog "Don't want to be human. I want to be frog" Underneath the frog is says "Eat bugs. Swim whenever. Sing "hello my baby" and then in smaller letters it says "We live in a factory that produces death and destruction at an industrial scale"

I grew up rural in a house my folks were fixing up so it was always under construction. It wasn't until I went to school and had to wear shoes all the time and meet other people's standards of cleanliness/manners that I realized our "free range" life was... out of the ordinary.

"...under the leadership of the Big Five and their equally hegemonic national retail partners, the flagship product favored by elite-facing bookstores in wealthy enclaves got cheaper, and the format with the proven mass potential got many times more expensive." πŸ“š

A good reminder I need to get that POSIWID tattoo sometime soon, if I can only settle on a font. Current fave.

I sometimes have the opposite issue, I see that there's 15% left and look forward to a long leisurely wrap-up but then it turns out there's some bonus chapter from the next book at the end and they wrap it all up quickly and desultorily!

I know the director of the Ann Arbor district library and he is a right on dude. Look up @eli.aadl.org when you get there.

I did not see any of those shows but I definitely saw some shows at the Channel in 1984. That place was hopping.
