in a world where generic, uninspired slop is saturating the market (which is nothing new for games, by the way) the most important things you can do are to be bizarre, passionate and skilled. AI can't experience your inner world for you, and so that's what you must cultivate and draw from.

i don't wanna be talking about AI all the time but it is just so insufferable lately man. gamedev is not "solved" you just need to have some goddamn self-respect and stop making Lowest Common Denominator: The Game

the particle system API is kind of jank and shitty but if you figure out the right properties to fiddle with it is fairly flexible

the way you do this is set `explosiveness` to 1, enable `one_shot` and then call `restart()` to spawn an instant burst of `amount` particles. if you need multiple overlapping bursts, you instantiate the particles node multiple times and connect the `finished` signal to `queue_free`
