We ate takeout from Mama Lu's aka CBS and ate it at a table at the Chinatown hub. It's better when you eat it fresh and hot at the restaurant. But it was cheap, fast and filling. I liked the egg tarts
At Echo Park, we met up with the celebrity that co-authored luskincenter.history.ucla.edu/wp-content/u...
I wonder how often he gets to ride his hand cycle around LA? Real protected bike lanes would give him more freedom than free curbside parking for everyone else.
Another video with more kids making happy memories #CicLAvia
this was a fun idea...the bicep checkpoint
We can and we must build more homes for all of us.
So many kids enjoying their city. At one point, I rode behind a half dozen kids riding ahead of their parents and humming the ET song. They shouted, "ET phone home!" I love biking through the twin dragons archway into Chinatown
Very likely!
Oops, that's the Voter Information Guide, not the Sample Ballot
Adjusted the angle better and took a video as I rode the DTLA 2nd Street Tunnel. This was such a novel and exhilarating experience. The plastic sticks of the "protected bike lane" were never enough for me to feel safe. Note the Dodger Blue sequined top.
I bought a phone mount and realized that I could take pictures one-handed if I rotated the phone to upright
I also ran over to the @lamaterial.com booth, where I met @sherlyholmes.bsky.social and @matt-hamilton87.bsky.social in person. I have been enjoying the free subscription and thought it was time to upgrade to a paid subscription lamaterial.com
They gave me a cool canvas tote bag
The LA County Registrar's office, which runs elections for the 10 million residents of LA County, was there. They gave me a round "I Voted" sticker, which fits perfectly over the bicycle wheel of my me-made jersey. I am holding up a Sample Ballot pamphlet that says "General Election" on the cover
First we went to the Echo Park hub
Past experience taught us that the E line becomes jammed with bicycles west of Crenshaw. So we biked from Expo/Crenshaw to the course. Followed 36th St, then through USC to Figueroa. Rode the farcical "protected bike lane" North on Figueroa until we met the course at 2nd.
CicLAvia Heart of LA! Putting smiles on faces since 2010
There’s also this piece from last year which points to similar cognitive effects. Asbestos of the mind is an excellent way to put it.
We are soon going to have to come to grips with the fact that this shit is asbestos for the mind
Another massive flood caused by a landslide in Nepal - this one in the Budhi Gandaki valley. No decent cloud-free imagery from @planet.com yet but this is from @esa.int Sentinel2.
Yes. Bass is trying to rewrite history. Her 4 votes didn't raise a peep
