“Texas Tech’s censorship policy does not just affect the humanities. According to the AAUP lawsuit, medical students at the campus in El Paso are no longer permitted to learn about racial disparities in medical care or how to treat underserved populations.” www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/1...
Mamdani: "We are talking a federal agency that is ripping families apart, that's willing to endanger the lives of a 5 year old child as well as any New Yorker in the surrounding area, % then after the fact, seeks to blame the person and the city at large as opposed to reflect upon their own actions"
If you appreciate how history repeats itself and how you can learn from history, watch this. It's not flashy, it's not click bait. It's how we can learn collectively and move forward for a stronger country.
The powerful forces trying to dominate our country want us to fall into cynicism. That way, they win everything — and they'll be able to take it all without the rest of us putting up a fight. If you are worried about the future, you are not alone. I am too. But please do not fall into cynicism.
Remarkable: As of now, Latino early vote is outpacing where it was at same time in 2024 in both percentages of vote share and in RAW VOTE TOTALS.
That's big. Presidential turnout is usually higher than midterms.
I obtained new analysis from Dem firm TargetSmart:
Just saw @petersagal.bsky.social in Bellingham (very glad we went!), and am wondering whether he listens to @jbf1755.bsky.social about, “We, the People” These two need to get on air together.
The countless people who glossed over disinformation and normalized MAHA in any way should recognize this the result of their actions. We no longer have to wonder how the Tuskegee experiments were allowed to happen. We are seeing it for ourselves.
If Americans view, clip, share, and permanently enshrine an American public killing in a million ways on the internet, we will move towards fascist rituals of violence.

"But at this point, how much more evidence is necessary to assess that Trump has undermined U.S. national security and is working for Russia? And how much longer will Republicans in Congress continue to protect him as he does it?"
I think it’s going around.
Right. But banning networks is apparently fine. Got it.
"[Trump is not just] repeating a call to get rid of Zelensky, it was a wholesale repeating of his pro-Russian narrative and mindset." "It is pure, unadulterated (and unfiltered) Russian messaging, being spoken with conviction by the President of the USA."
Feeling exhausted and overwhelmed right now? Take a breath. It means the propaganda machine failed; you see right through the noise. We need your voice, your vote, and your fire now more than ever. Don’t back down. We need you in this fight.
The Republican Party is on the side of Russia against Ukraine. It’s not me saying that, it’s their cult leader. bsky.app/profile/atru...
Joanne nails it. There is no "both sides," any more.
Today, Joanne Freeman, Yale historian, said something important for all of us to share with others online and in person. Joanne B. Freeman | Yale historian, author, Hamilton expert. Podcaster making history matter. 🎙️
The taboo against naming Trump's dementia is fading. A THREAD.
We invite you to take a watch/ listen to @jbf1755.bsky.social talking about violence as politics, if your short of time, she considers live streaming an execution at approx. 20 minutes in. 🫣
It's a thoughtful explanation ⬇️
THREAD. People in the U.S. legally, deported with nothing—and dumped in a country where they have no place to live, no belongings.
This. He’s making it clear that these are NOT ordinary political times. That MAGA isn’t part of our “party system.” That we MUST be speaking to the truth and horrors of this moment—NOT dragging politics-as-normal habits into it.
