Norway’s former Chief of Defence, General Sverre Diesen: “Under the current Trump administration, we cannot consider the United States our ally. Trump’s America is a hostile actor that, in the event of a conflict in Europe, would side with Russia rather than with us and other European countries.”
In the least surprising news of the century, vast majority of racist flag shaggers who go about brandishing crosses and saying that we're a Christian country... don't pray, or go to church or read the Bible
Billionaire families have spent $1.7 BILLION on the 2026 midterms so far — a 5,200% increase since the 2010 midterms. Citizens United is among the worst decisions in history. It corrupts our system every day. Big Money is the root of our dysfunction.
Your regular reminder that my daughter Alice’s death wasn’t counted in Appleby’s report, despite her meeting all the criteria. And when I emailed the Tavistock adult GIC to inform them they could take Alice off the waitlist, because she’d died by suicide, they never replied. It’s a disgrace.
Andy Burnham says UK authorities are “clear” there was Russian interference in the Brexit referendum as @catneilan.bsky.social reports in today’s @theobserveruk.bsky.social

If there was a simple answer this conflict would have ended decades ago. You're still referring to the state of Israel rather than the government. Geography doesn't have opinions, or armies. We need to place the blame for these atrocities on the people who ordered them and carried them out.
I'm not sure what is unclear here?
The Israeli government has said that. We need to separate the government from the state. The government deserves trenchant criticism for much of what they have said and done. But you're just not engaging with the point I'm making.
The motion called for a single Palestinian state. In other words it opposed the two-state solution. In other words it called for Israel to no longer exist. But in any case, I'm responding to the arguments made in the substack article above, not directly to the motion.
Okay, but I'm responding to the above substack.
Right, but that was always expressed as a criticism of the South African *government*, as it should be today about Israel's government. The problem comes where the existence of Israel starts being up for debate. There's no parallel with South Africa there at all.
There's obviously a valid criticism of BBC journalism here, but the argument falls down where it tries to defend calls for Israel to be abolished by equating that with criticism of apartheid South Africa. NOBODY was calling for SA to be abolished during apartheid. They called for *apartheid* to end.
The question is what has Putin promised he'll do for Trump in the midterms in return for this betrayal of Ukraine?
"My days-long decisive victory over Iran is now in its 8th humiliating, oil-price-inflating month, so I'm going to go secure like a day's worth diesel by helping Putin pay the bills on his >4 year long 3 day military special operation."
For those playing along at home: To give the appearance of action on the impacts of his humiliating blunder on the world stage, the President of the United States is making a humiliating blunder on the world stage by bailing the Russian president out of a humiliating blunder on the world stage.
The real truth is a real eye opener. Here’s another evisceration brokenbottleboy.substack.com/p/here-lies-...
Thank you for that! Marvellous.
This is an amazing obituary of Archer by A N Wilson

I doubt I’ve ever met anyone , assuming they had heard of Archer , who would have said a good word about him. Just shows how the establishment of the UK looks after its own…
I think, especially in councils where they gained power, they have been truly found out as a workshy bunch of failures. But I worry that their bullshit still works for a significant minority. We can't let up the pressure.
