Okay, I am looking at this gendered reading piece by Ross Barkan and I have many thoughts and questions. Part of the thesis is this:
Join the Cinema Worms for our short review of VERITY 🩸👩🦽📚 a film in which a comatose Anne Hathaway outacts a non-comatose Dakota Johnson in every single scene, even ones she's not in. I saw this the night before my PhD viva because apparently I wasn't already suffering enough.
In which we review VERITY! Hear Lindz's thoughts on the latest Colleen Hoover adaptation, along with an ongoing vendetta against Dakota Johnson 😂

I hope you like it! Thank you so much!!
I got one! It arrived this week and it looks fabulous!!!! 🎉🎉🎉
Ruin a book by adding a word: Crime and Live-streamed Punishment. Animal Allegory Farm
Now that I have a 'Sheila Ferguson' (three degrees—and yes, my dad made that joke yesterday) I feel mostly-qualified to say that if you're interested in developing your craft as a writer, or even a reader curious about the behind-the-scenes process of creating a story, my craft anthology is great!
Ooooo! I am entranced by this one. It makes me think about how if you take apart almost any sentence you'll find that almost EVERYTHING in it is abstract. Language is endlessly fascinating.
Thank you very much!
Richest man alive, who sentenced millions of the neediest people on earth to death, thinks we should be nicer to AI
ha! great minds, as they say (and fools seldom differ)
I love how they do this stuff to make fun of us and it ends up looking c*nty.
Check it out!
"It’s an unlikely match I never would’ve guessed, but McLeod brings them together seamlessly." Fantastic praise for THE UNLIKELY PURSUIT OF MARY BENNET from BookRiot!
@sagetyrtle.bsky.social I feel like you'd like this one as well!
I learned another new word this week! Polysemy is a single word capable of meaning multiple distinct but related things (a human foot, the foot of a mountain, etc). This is different from a homonym, where two words sound identical but refer to different things (eg, a vampire bat, a baseball bat).
I hate that I can see every part of your comments coming true.
Having just finished a PhD thesis and novel which (partly) discuss the spectacle of public executions... I didn't imagine seeing this headline today and yet it doesn't surprise me at all.
