Her fix wasn’t just to patch the bug. For each crash, she took a Polaroid of the programmer who wrote it, and a note on the mistake. That way, if it ever happened again, they wouldn't be starting from scratch. They could note patterns and the last person who triaged that failure could help.

atproto spaces is shaping up! we're getting pretty close to what I expect will be the beta spec. ("beta" meaning in-production on bsky PDSes with real users) however, there's still room to maneuver. if something in the alpha isn't working for you, this is a good time to bring it up!

Yet they STILL allowed a child to sign up, and then promptly doxxed them! 🫠

W Social Terms of Service extract: 3. Eligibility and Account Registration 3.1. Age requirement. You must be at least eighteen (18) years old to create a W Social account. 3.2. Identity verification through W Identity. To create a W Social account, you must first verify your identity through W Identity. W Identity operates an independent identity verification service that allows you to verify your identity once and then selectively share verified attributes with third-party applications under your control.

#WSocial’s advice here is TERRIBLE - deleting your account won’t change a thing. Just now I found the record of a minor (15yo) who was verified by #WIdentity. His account status is now “taken down” but his full name, nationality and approx. date of birth are still visible on W's verification list!
