That was my first read which seemed insane but it was just poorly communicated and later on they say they're pulling them from play packs and reducing them in collectors.

The 1/300 of a god pack is worth more than three foil commons I think. If that change (or something else) wasn't happening at the same time I'd agree.

I *also* have opinions on how much the lotto ticket aspect of pack opening has grown with ultra premium stuff like serialized cards l but I think that's more a reflection of broader society than Magic specifically and it's something that the average player can just tune out

I've also said this many times before and it always seems to get lost - the existence of premium treatments/packs is great for *players*, not just collectors. It pushes the prices of game pieces down and toward collectibles instead. There are still way too many sets a year but that's its own deal.

There are three fewer cards that people mostly didn't care about and just rushed by to get to the back of the pack in exchange for the god pack lottery ticket. It does not seem like a net negative to me.

I see a lot of negativity toward this and I just disagree. Collector boosters being jammed full of foil commons and commons made those feel irrelevant. Now they'll have some more appeal. People also asked for big hits in play boosters and not just collectors and this does that too. What's bad here?
