Call Of The Wilde has no Horses/Goats. This last game doesn't need a rehash.

The entire Call is the Wilde Cards is a big picture look at how to arrive at the ultimate destination.

That concludes an amazing season. Our thanks to Global Montreal for their support.

Big game tonight for #Habs prospect Michael Hage, he and Michigan take on the current behemoth of NCAA hockey, Denver, who have taken 3 of the last 5 national championships.

Thank you Sean 🤝

It’s time to ride the hot hand in net as the Canadiens fall in Washington.

The Call Of The Wilde is brought to you thanks to Global Montreal.

.842 on the season. Same number as Montembeault last year

@bwildemtl.bsky.socialOct 15, 2026, 2:26 AM

Gonna sound rough, but they pay me to say it. It's very difficult to win when the goalie isn't up to it. They need to play the hot hand of Fowler until Dobes gets it figured out.

@bwildemtl.bsky.socialOct 15, 2026, 2:18 AM

A negative 1.85 for Dobes tonight in GSAE. He is minus 5.86 so far this season. That is 62nd of 64 goalies who have seen action this season.

@bwildemtl.bsky.socialOct 15, 2026, 2:09 AM

That wasn't deflected late. Last night, Fowler had no chance on any of them with a deflection only 10 feet in front of him. This is straight in from 55 feet. And you can see that he made himself small on it. All he has to do is instinctively spread his wings and he's got a save.

After that fawning segment, I can only say "Slava, Ukraine".

@bwildemtl.bsky.socialOct 15, 2026, 1:34 AM

And it’s 3-3.

I'm not saying I disagree with it, but I do know I have never seen it. After the big hit that levelled Slafkovsky, the Canadiens are shorthanded for going after the players involved in the hit. The Capitals have 5 PP tonight. the Canadiens have 1. Hmmm.

@bwildemtl.bsky.socialOct 15, 2026, 1:16 AM

Slafkovsky is fine on the first hit. He doesn't get his head impacted, but on the way down the hip from Wilson is the concussion and the danger. It's the Wilson contact that is the bad one.

@bwildemtl.bsky.socialOct 15, 2026, 1:03 AM

They have faced good goaltending yes. Only the Carolina game did they face a weak goalie

@bwildemtl.bsky.socialOct 15, 2026, 1:00 AM

Not for a team wise no... you would have to just look individually at each game . you got me curious. I am gonna look

@bwildemtl.bsky.socialOct 15, 2026, 12:38 AM

Yup, confirmation bias. thanks Rick

@bwildemtl.bsky.socialOct 15, 2026, 12:28 AM

He does play better when he plays with talent.... I agree

@bwildemtl.bsky.socialOct 15, 2026, 12:25 AM

Dobes is still overcommitting right now. He's exaggerated in all his movements. All season he's been doing this. Needs to calm himself and his movements

@bwildemtl.bsky.socialOct 15, 2026, 12:22 AM

This is the assessment I agree with on that one. Look at Leonard's activity. They were both doing the exact same thing.

@bwildemtl.bsky.socialOct 15, 2026, 12:21 AM

They call Lane Hutson a lot when he is challenged physically. Here's why. The refs view him as a tiny player so presume difficulties for him. As soon as they see even a hint of it, it's a penalty. Contrast this with Shea Weber who literally cross checked guys until they had back injuries. Nada.

@bwildemtl.bsky.socialOct 15, 2026, 12:12 AM

You and me, brother . you and me. No other sport is a penalty a vibe instead of a rule.

@bwildemtl.bsky.socialOct 15, 2026, 12:11 AM

I am 63 years of age. I have loved hockey before I learned how to walk. I've also covered hockey for 43 years. I'm not sure I have ever seen a smarter hockey brain processing the game than Lane Hutson.
