Here's one you don't see every day...A NW Side man charged with a federal felony for allegedly using a laser pointer at a CPD helicopter from his back porch. He'd previously been charged with misdemeanors in Cook County criminal court, where prosecutors alleged he'd "temporarily blinded the pilot"

Nobody embodied Chicago Bears football more than Mike Ditka. His face even resembled the bear on the team logo, a face once described as “a clenched fist” that became familiar to millions.

So the attorney who was redacted is Suzanne Drouet, a deputy in the Office of Professional Responsibility. They were asking for grand jury materials to be disclosed to them for the ongoing OPR invesitgation into attorney misconduct.

JUST IN: Judge April Perry has made her requests for U.S. Attorney's Office communications in the Broadview Six case, including the email sent to US Atty Andrew Boutros with the grand jury transcript from Oct. 9

@jmetr22b.bsky.socialOct 9, 2026, 1:42 PM

It's likely this is just routine, but redacting a signatory is weird. In her order granting their request, Judge Perry noted that "the 10/9, 10/16, and 10/23 Grand Jury transcripts - in both redacted and almost entirely unredacted form - are already on the public docket."

The U.S. attorney's office has flied a public version of their motion to disclose grand jury materials in the "Broadview Six" case that includes some heavy redactions, including one of the attorneys in the signature block at the end. 🤔

Here is the aerial view of the Marimar Martinez shooting as reconstructed by an expert hired by her lawyers. The first three shots came as Agent Charles Exum stood to the front right of Martinez's car as she tried to pull away. Shots four and five came from the side and back, the analysis says:

Marimar Martinez is asked how she's doing: "I'm just glad to see another year, be with my family...I don't want to be in the camera, I'm doing this because if I don't then who else? Look what happened to Renee (Good)...we should not normalize what is happening."

Attorney Chris Parente tells reporters they have done their own invesigation and produced enough evidence to show that Agent Charles Exum should be charged criminally with shooting Marimar Martinez
